Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this adapter work with pre AI lens Nikon F lens?

A: The Rayqual Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Leica M-Mount Camera allows you to mount all Nikon F-mount lenses on a Leica M-mount camera. However, the adapter does not support autofocus or camera-to-lens communication. So, you cannot control the aperture on Nikon G lenses that do not have an aperture ring.

Q: 2. I want to use OM lenses on a Canon SL2. What difference does the focus confirmation chip do in this equation?

A: The confirmation chip electronically interfaces with the cameras focus confirmation system. This means when you have achieved focus, the little green dot shows up in bottom right of the viewfinder and the camera chirps. This is a valuable feature that you will appreciate over the long term.

Q: 3. Will the Viltrox EF-L adapter allow full Canon EF lens to Leica CL body communication as well as IS, auto focus and auto aperture setting?

A: It depends if the specific lens that you are using was setup in the firmware that the adapter has. If it was autofocus, body communication, IS, and auto aperture will work. I don't see a compatibility list online though so only way to know is to try it out. Also bare in mind that autofocus tends to slow down with the adapter, specially in video mode it tends to be only manual focus.

Q: 4. can this be used with the Olympus air?

A: As I do not own and have not used an Olympus Air so far, I cannot give a definite yes or no answer to this question. Yet, I can tell you that this adapter will physically fit on the Olympus AIR as it features a standard Micro Four Thirds lens mount, and it will allow you to mount older Olympus OM lenses at the right focal distance. However, as you are probably aware, autofocus is not possible with these older lenses and only manual or aperture priority exposure will be possible with this setup. I have successfully used this adapter on OM EM-1 and EM-5 MarkII bodies, but not on the Olympus Air. Functionality will likely depends on the versatility of the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operations. The only way to be sure is to test it.

Q: 5. What's the net weight of this adapter?

A: Is Yves is lazy? Or stupid? This information is readily available on line. For instance, Amazon says 4oz. Probably the Olympus website gives the answer too. I am not going to weigh my adapter on a gram scale for Yves' benefit. Get a life, Yves! B&H, please do not send me questions of this sort in the future. Thanks.

Q: 6. Will this allow my Olympus lens to work with the Canon C100 vidoe camera?

A: The FotodioX Mount Adapter for Olympus OM-Mount Lens to Canon EOS Camera will allow you to mount Olympus lenses designed for Olympus OM film cameras to the Canon C100 video camera. There is no adapter for mounting current Olympus Micro Four Thirds lenses onto a Canon C100.

Q: 7. Will this adapter allow my Canon EF lenses to fit the new Olympus OM1 camera ?

A: Yes, FotodioX Vizelex Cine ND Throttle Lens Adapter is design to connect Canon EOS EF lenses to Olympus Micro 4/3 mirrorless cameras

Q: 8. Can this adapter be used on the Beastgrip Depth Of Field MK2 to accommodate a Tokina SZ-X and or Sigma Pantel manual lenses? It doesn't have to be perfect.

A: The Tokina SZX 400mm f/8 Reflex MF Lens for Canon EF could be used with the Beastgrip DOF Adapter MK2 without any adapter.

Q: 9. will this fit a Canon D80 camera?

A: We're afraid not. This is for the new Canon RF-Mount cameras, such as the EOS R. It will not work with the Canon 80D.

Q: 10. Will this work to adapt Canon NFD lenses to the Sigma FP? The Canon lenses are already converted to EF mount.

A: A native Canon FD-mount manual focus lens designed for use on manual Canon 35mm SLR cameras would not be compatible for use on the Viltrox EF-L Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens to L-Mount Camera. However, if your lens was somehow converted to a native Canon EF-mount lens mount, then yes, the above lens mount adapter would be compatible for your usage needs.

[Canon EF] This was a wise investment. I wanted to upgrade to a DSLR from my OM film camera, and this made it possible to retain all of my OM lenses.

[Canon EF] It enabled me to use several relatively fast lenses that I had from the film camera days. focusing has to be done in live view as they are totally manual lenses. i allowed me to use about $400 dollars worth of lenses that I already had. It fits well and seems very positive.

[Canon EF] Nearly any L39-LM adapter may be fine for film M, but for digital M, you need a Type II (e.g, Voigtlander Type II) adapter, or the camera will read no lens attached -- not an issue if you don't specify a lens profile or use LiveView. Rayqual's adapters are quasi-Type3: infinity-lock and digital-M compatible. More expensive, but cheaper than buying several that don't work correctly. Wish these were always in stock. Best option.

[Canon EF] Fits snugly in my adapter chain and does not take up a lot of room. Despite it being small it is solid and there is no danger of it being damaged even with heavy lenses. Note, the item is not as pictured, it is all silver metal and much smaller than pictured.

[Canon EF] This adapter is really well machined and attaches smoothly both to camera and lens—unlike the cheaper, more popular brands which felt really rough on the equipment. I also like that the shape makes it easier to grip while shooting. If you have an expensive Fuji GFX, this is the better choice.
