Equipped with an interchangeable PL/EF mount, the versatile, compact lens boasts a parfocal design with 11 aperture blades, close focusing distance of 1.6/2.9", invisible focus breathing, and constant T2.9 to T22 aperture, providing you with exceptional performance on both full frame and S35 cameras and with lens marking in both feet and meters.

The modified space gray, magnesium alloy design of this "Lite" version keeps the lens 10% lighter than the earlier, standard version, and the built-in back focus adjustment system offers a smooth and reliable shooting experience whether you're on location or in a controlled studio environment. Defaulted with a titanium alloy PL mount, the lens is supplied with an aluminum alloy EF bayonet. Optional mirrorless mounts (Sony FE, Canon RF, and Nikon Z and L) are also available for added versatility. This Ranger Lite model is ideal for capturing wide-angle vistas, as well as character- and dialogue-driven scene acquisition.

A lens mount adapter such as the Metabones ARRI PL Lens to Sony E-mount Camera T Adapter (Black), BH #MEMBPLEBT2, would be an option to mount the lens on the FREEFLY Wave High-Speed Camera (2TB).

Q: 3. Could this work with an extender?

A: At this time Venus Optics does not offer an extender option for the Venus Optics Laowa Ranger 75-180mm T2.9 Cine Zoom Lens. Other adapters would need to be tested for compatibility.

[T22] This lens is awesome, the infamous 8R is one of my favorite lenses to get that huge feel, and this little guy does a great job filling that role at a price you can afford to buy instead of rent. The step up ring to get it on the matte box, get some super short rails. 5

[11] This lens is great for specific and interesting macro shots, underwater shots, larger than life views of 3 dimensional objects that regular lenses could never achieve. If you're looking for these specific types of shots, this lens is for you. It does require good stabilization (slider) and tons of light to get those cool shots. 5

[77 mm] Really loving this lens particularly the lightweight. Have used Angenieux and Fuji lenses on a few features, and this lens cut right in with them. It's fast and lightweight and build quality is good as well. Definitely recommended. 5

[77 mm] Back in the day we used use the Frazier lens system -- which was cumbersome and challenging to use. The Laowa is tack sharp, albeit slow at an f/14, light and easy to use. 5

[Full Frame] I own the 16,35,50,85,and 105 (but wanted to call attention to this full kit) These lenses have been absolutely incredible and some of my favorite to use. They are clean, yet not âclinical.â Built incredibly well, nice and fast lenses, with a nice range. I think for the price, these are the best bang for the buck, and have outdone any lens set Iâve used even near this price. 5

[77 mm] There are so many budget cine lens options out there, but rarely do you get a reasonably priced EF mount cine lens with smooth gears, solid as a truck metal build, that goes up to T2 AND has macro capabilities. This whole series from Sirui is fantastic. I own the 50mm and the 35mm, got both of them on sales from B&H in like new condition, hundreds of dollars off an already great starting price. I'm just waiting for a sale on the 24mm. The resolution of the glass easily handles 6K or 8K sensors so you get crisp details in the in focus areas. I use it with a speed booster on the Red Komodo which opens it up even wider than T2! Crazy sharp in the center and softer and somewhat vintage as you move to the corners, but sharpens up across the frame above T4. The macro capabilities are awesome and the icing on the cake that I feel really sets this lens apart from Mieke, DZOFilm, and other budget cine series of lenses. My only complaint is that there are only 3 lenses in this set. Really hoping Sirui will release an 18 or 20mm along with a 70 or 85mm. 5
