Take control of your software and hardware with the Native Instruments KONTROL S49 MK3, a completely redesigned smart MIDI controller that features a new, updated keyboard designed by Fatar with semiweighted keys, polyphonic aftertouch, and MIDI 2.0 compatibility. The enclosure is made from anodized aluminum and features a high-resolution full-color display, a four-directional push encoder, eight touch-sensitive knobs, ergonomic pitch and modulation wheels, and an assignable touch-sensitive smart strip. Additionally, there are DAW transport controls for direct access to DAW transport functions for most DAW software.

The S49 MK3 is designed to be used with all software- and hardware-based MIDI instruments and features expanded integration with all NKS compatible software, especially KOMPLETE. Browse across all your plugins and easily select an instrument, preview a patch, and load your sound. The updated Light Guide allows you to identify drum cells, key switches, phrases, scales, and chords by way of multicolored lights that shine above the keys. Additionally, the onboard arpeggiator, integrated scale mapping, and single key chords add even more control and inspiration. The KOMPLETE 14 SELECT software is included with 19 premium instruments and effects, 15,000 sounds, eight expansions, and over 40GB of content.

A: Unfortunately not, the Quantum radio slave system is completely independant of the PocketWizard system. Each radio slave manufacturer has their own radio frequencies.

Q: 6. can I use the 32 bit motu traveler with my 64 bit macOS?

A: Yes, the MOTU Traveler-mk3 FireWire Audio Interface can be used with a 64-bit macOS system. In this scenario, the 32-bit float point recording capabilities of the Traveler are a separate specification to the Mac's 64-bit application processes. The MOTU Traveler-mk3 has the following system requirements for macOS: -G4/500Mhz Power Mac or faster equipped with at least one FireWire port -At least 256 MB of RAM (512 MB or more is recommended) -Mac OS X (version 10.4.9 or later) -A large hard drive (preferably at least 100 GB)

A: If using the Quantum Instruments CoPilot Wireless TTL Flash Controller for Panasonic B&H # QUQF91P to trigger this flash with the GH5, HSS would not be available.

Q: 9. Will the Canon r5 fit this or is it better to get NN6?

A: While the Nodal Ninja 6 with Nadir Adapter would be a great option with more flexibility and would give you the ability to use a larger range of lenses, yes, the Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Digital Camera and a lens up to 200mm would be compatible for use with the Nodal Ninja NN3 MK3 with Lower Rotator D10 Package.

A: The GH5 PC terminal will take the cable that connects to the Omicron OM3 so yes, it will work.

[Color LCD] Going from an S2 Mk1 to the S4 Mk4 might be an unfair comparison, but after adding the Z1, X1, and two A&H Zone:K2s to my old S2 setup, it took the addition of rotating platters to convince me to upgrade. To be clear, the S4 is enormous and I don’t use decks 3 and 4 for tracks, but the S2 MK3 didn’t list the moving platters as a feature (lights only). I’ve always been a “vinyl or ableton” kind of DJ. I own some ancient Pioneer CDJs that I practiced on (because industry standards exist) but beatmatching with them was never actually fun. I only ever used the jog wheels to scroll through the tracks, and I spent years trying to get Ableton to work like Traktor S8. NI was right - if old style jog wheels stink, why not ditch them and use the space for touch strips and more buttons? The S4 MK3 is why. The platters feel like 45s on 1200s. Mixing with them is really fun. The only sync function I’ve used so far is assigning tracks as “master”, so I can get my video software to match tempo. To revisit the size issue, it’s enormous. There are a lot of wonderful features and I can’t think of any way to shrink them down without making the product worse. This does not fit in any reasonable bag. You’ll need a mini-coffin to transport it safely. So far I have been using gaff tape to secure a Decksaver cover, and while not unworkable it still doesn’t fit in any reasonable bag and airplane carryon might not fly. In the spring of 2020 this is not an issue for me, which partially drove my decision to splurge on this product right now, but going forward I will need a transportation solution if I ever plan to travel with it. 5

[KOMPLETE LE] I have been a big fan of the native instruments keyboard since they came out, and this one is no exception. It is very simple to use, but the way that the new screen is displayed and the sound or organized and not only being able to mod the parameter so easily is a big plus. the screen is beautiful. The key bed is nice. I wish I could’ve got an upgrade from my MK two but beggars can’t be choosers. I would purchase again of put in the same situation. 5

[Black] I am a dedicated Traktor user. This controller gives you full blown control of the whole software. The looping and beat jumping knobs make the process super easy. The sampler is insane. With Traktor Pro the Drum sequencer adds flavor to your sets and review the crowd wild every time. Full control of the effects (everyone knows native instruments has the best effects). Jogweals are dope the haptic drive is even better!!!! Sound quality is even better with Traktor pro with the ozone maximizer!!! Literally opens the sound up and makes it sound clean and balanced. I can't wait for flexible beatgrids with Traktor and izotopes live stem separation to be implemented that will take sets to monstrous levels. 5

[Color LCD] I found the MK2 pre own and I purchased it. The first it worked like a dream. The next week, it started acting up and I purchased the MK3. At first I had an issue updating the firmware and I had to connect a power cable. Once I got it running, I spent a few hours checking out the features and I’m blown away. It works with the C-Type and the adapter. 5

[16 lb] It would seem these controllers are significantly better than the products I remember from years past. The jog wheels behave like the CDJs I used to fawn over, everything is cleanly laid out and illuminated, and all the knobs feel sturdy. It has some solid heft to it and feels like an investment rather than a toy. Very happy with it. 5
