A: Yes it will fit a 2.75 diameter lens because material is elastic like that of Urethane foam wet suit for divers. I suspect that if you left hood on 2.75 lens for long-term storage, hood may no longer fit as snugly on 2.5 diameter lens. Just a theory. But I know myself that they can be hard to put on if they are too snug and require too much stretching. But then they stay on better, of course, so it IS hard to tell. I think I'd go with the smaller one, especially if the lens is shallow - i.e. not very long. If the hat is too big and just kind of loosely holding on, it will probably be falling off if the lens isn't very long. Just MHO.
