Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this work with a Panasonic Micro 4/3 body and their 100-300mm telephoto? I have a g7 and a Gx85 and may get a GH5 or or G95.

A: Your camera system is too small for Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release. The lens will reach the support bar when is fully extended. You will also need to tilt the camera and lens down in order to rest the lens on the bar. The velcro strap is also too long and will need to be wrapped twice around your lens. The minimum length of the Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release adjustable bar is 6''. your lens starts at 5''.

Q: 2. What is the lens diameter range the strap will fit?

A: The velcro strap on the Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release can expand upto a 105mm circumference to hold the lenses steady.

Q: 3. Can this be used with a Wimberly Gimbal head?

A: This lens support is for a lens that lacks a tripod collar, so it would be a support system on its own.

Q: 4. wull it be suitable for a sigma 100-400 lens?

A: While we have not tested this unknown combination, we feel that it should work just fine.

Q: 5. Will this work with my Sony RX10iv?

A: Yes and no. The RX10 Mk IV fits onto the RC2/200PL system easily, but because the barrel of the lens is smaller in diameter than the camera is tall, when parallel to the lens support, the lens support does not bear the weight of the lens at all. Using the 234 tilt head, you -could- tilt the head/camera downwards so that the lens is supported by the platform, but from testing here at the store, the lens does not exhibit significant downward weight/torque on the camera side, so it really shouldn't be necessary.

Q: 6. does this work with Nikon 80-200 f2.8 push/pull lens mounted on D7100 body?

A: well i dont know that lens but it worked fine with my canon 100-400mm push\pull lens

Q: 7. What is the shortest distance between the 1/4 inch threaded attachment to the front lens support?

A: There are 3 1/4 inch and 3 3/8 inch threaded attachment positions. The front lens support can be positioned directly over each of them. The front lens support is on a sliding arm that can be reversed to shorten the distance from the camera base.

Q: 8. Will this support M42 types lenses, such as the Russian Tair 3 and a SMC Takumar 200 mm f/4? I would also like to know if the bracket itself can slide up and down on the tripod for camera/ lens balancing?

A: Not sure about those specific lenses. There is no slider but the bottom plate of the supports has several points below the plate to attach it to a tripod (3x 1/4 holes and 3x 1/8 holes). There is about 5 inches (12cm) between the the most forward and rearward holes so you can play with this lenght to balance the camera.

Q: 9. Will this fit a Sony a7r IV with a Sony FE 24-240mm lens?

A: Hi--that lens is too short to fit this support--the minimum length is 7.9" and the 24-240mm lens is only 4.67" long.

Q: 10. Is it compatible with camcorders as well as SLR's?

A: Well, I didn't use it with camcorders. However, the general idea is to support the body and the lens in a manner not to cause much pressure on the mount. If that would help in recording then let it be! But I doubt controlling it would be much of an easy task. I don't know the size of camcorders, but the total expansion of this arm is somewhere around 40cm; would that be good for camcorders?

[1.4 lb (620 g)] Sought to buy the missing unit for a recently acquired Nikon ED 300mm f/4.5 and encountered prices the likes of which i'd only seen in the vintage audio market. A previous purchase (China cheap) did not fit this lens but keeping it for an eventual other purchase.
Was looking at a unit I thought would fit and decided to engage a BH sales person who quickly found out it was not, and provided me a link to this unit.
Manfrotto, which I previously thought of as a maker of expensive gear corrected that perception. This is a really, really fit for this lens that is built like a Sherman tank. It's easily fitted and solid as a rock. For my uses at least, this is a well-built and very adjustable support. I am sure I will find something I don't particular care for but, at this price, I'm more likely to remember it's not that bad :-)

[1/4" and 3/8"] Quality product with great lockup, and holds zero well. Definitely appreciate the quick detach feature - I wish it were a little cheaper, I'd probably get a couple more for some other builds at a lower price, but overall very happy and would recommend!

[1/4" and 3/8"] Outstanding product made in collaboration with ADM. Used as a riser for my EOTech, which raises the optic to a higher sight line.

[Aluminum] If your cameras can quickly go from handheld, to gimbals/ steady cam, to sticks, (as they should) this bridge is absolutely necessary and pairs perfectly with the nucleus handles. So if you have the nucleus 2/3 motor system, you absolutely need this bridge for your setup.

[1/4" and 3/8"] Easy to install. Simple and straightforward QD mount that I use for my Vortex Sparc Solar. Found it a bit odd that I ts a picatinny on a picatinny but it makes it universal and it works with both the Vortex Sparc Solar’s low profile and cowitness mounts. That being said it adds about half an inch to the height of your optic so you will need to sight in your optic again. It also doesn’t have a super large footprint (1 tooth on each side of my Sparc’s mount footprint is exposed) so I would check to make sure your optic mount will fit. It holds Zero quite nicely after getting it sighted in. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a QD mount for a red dot or reflex scope.

[1.4 lb (620 g)] On something like a MK18, or any AR with a barrel 12” and under, it can be very useful to have an inherently fast optic like a vortex razor, trijicon RMR, or any optic normally thought of as a pistol optic, simply because the weapon itself is designed to have an advantage in tight quarters. When selecting an optic that can be as fast as the weapon can handle, often it’s the case that these optics won’t sit high enough to cowitness with backup irons, and if the weapon is short enough, that you may have to crane your neck at an odd angle to see through these low riding dots. Enter the riser. It raises the optic to a perfect height so that irons are easily cowitnessed, and perhaps most importantly, the extra height enables you to instantly acquire the dot when upping the gun from low ready, without any odd head tilts or strange angles to be able to see the dot correctly. Great product.

[Aluminum] Very sturdy and well built. It works on most tripods and especially great for the Nikon P1000.
It lacks instructions. You have to figure it out on your own but it is not hard to do.

[1.4 lb (620 g)] Extremely sturdy and well made. I am using it to raise up my absolute cowitness EOTech on my AR. It is perfect for me to shoot under NVGs.
