Q: 1. Do I need this bracket for Misfit, if I m using 15mm LW correct height?

A: The bare minimum, clip-on MisFit matte box requires the Bright Tangerine Lightweight Rod Bracket Type 4 for Misfit plus the Bright Tangerine 15mm Lightweight Rod Bracket Type 3 in order to be mounted on 15mm or 19mm rods.

A: Yes.

Q: 3. Is this lens auto focus?

A: When you see the mechanics of this lens, you will understand why there is nor room for autofocus. Focus must first be done in non shifted mode and then shifted/ tilted. It is inconvenient to those that require autofocus but pays back dividends to other that will spend the time with examining for exact manual focus not through the viewfinder, but in Live view. It's really the only way to use this lens properly.

Q: 4. Does it fit arri's 19mm evf?

A: Notification is not appearing for use of the Wooden Camera 19mm End Cap for Air EVF Mount with the ARRI 19mm EVF products. The Wooden Camera 19mm End Cap for Air EVF Mount is listed for use with the Wooden Camera Air EVF products, like the Wooden Camera AIR EVF Mount with Friction Knuckle & 15mm Rods for ARRI ALEXA Mini MVF-1.

Q: 5. Is it possible to purchase Finger-tightened rod mounting screw from this handgrip separately?

A: The thumbscrew for the Tilta Quick Release Handgrip Bridge is not available separately. Tilta may be able to provide a replacement if you contact them directly.

Q: 6. No hood available from Nikon, is one not needed? How bad is glare and reduced contrast when key light is in front/side of camera? Note front glass bulbs out. Nano coating can only do so much, no? Any success in using flags in lieu of a hood? Or is lack of a hood not a concern with this lens?

A: There is a good reason why there are no hoods for very wide lenses; to wit, a hood that actually protects the lens from flare is also visible in the frame.My rule of thumb to make sure no light is flaring or causing ghosts on my lens is this: From moderately wide to tele lens length, I use lens hoods, or matte boxes or adjustable sunshades on the camera to block the spurious light. However, on very wide lenses, the flare has to be flagged at the light source that is causing the problem. Even outside and it is the sun hitting the lens, use a grip flag on a stand to stop the direct light of the sun. Do not have such equipment? Then have a friend hold any rectangular object so the the flare from the sun is blocked. How to know it is working? Make sure the shadow of the flag covers the front element of the lens. Nikkor lenses are among the finest in the world. The lens coatings on this lens are no less than that. You can be sure that for all but the most direct specular light rays, light hitting this lens will be flare and ghost free.

Q: 7. When not being used in either tilt / shift mode (and settings for both zeroed out ), I assume that this lens can essentially be used as a prime manual-focus rectilinear 19mm F4.0 lens with fantastic optics, correct?

A: Absolutely outstanding results

Q: 8. Mounted on the d850, can you use the focusing zebra stripes in live view mode with this lens and if so is it accurate?

A: When in Movie mode on the Nikon D850, one can enable zebra stripes while this lens is in use. The accuracy will not differ as compared to the accuracy when using other lenses.

Q: 9. Is the bayonet fitting just for the cap? It would be very useful to have a hood for this lens even if it was designed only for the unshifted/tilted FOV

A: Just for the cap (unless Nikon plan to come along with a hood sometime later...but I doubt it). $70 for the cap if you need a replacement -- so take care of it!

Q: 10. Will this also be compatible with the Pyxis? Similar to bridgeplates for Arri?

A: The Blackmagic Design 19mm Baseplate for URSA Cine 12K is not compatible with the PYXIS.

[1] I liked this 19-15 adaptor. Im steadicam operator and all my brackets are Jerry Hill. sometimes is difficult fit the motor on the lens and when I saw this, I realiza you can change the measure of the rods. I used twice since I bought and it works. 5

[1] This handgrip can be fully used with a bridge plate and dovetail plate. Its shape allows to make it slide on the plate. Most of the time it is not possible with other 19mm 15mm combo. 5

[1] I used to use 15mm carbon fiber and aluminum rods. After you've tried steel or titanium rods, you'll never go back. They're more expensive and probably overkill for the majority of prosumer videographers with small mirrorless cameras, but if you're using a fully decked out Arri or RED cinema camera for film or TV projects, I recommend steel or titanium, and Tilta has a good track record with quality camera accessories. 5

[Stainless Steel] I use this as a substitute to the cheap Nucleus-M 15mm bushings. Built super solid, the motor has zero movement when you torque this thing down. 5

[None / None] I also have a smaller good matte box from Genus, but I love this carbon fiber mattebox from Lanparte. It can be used with a wide range of lenses from CP PL to DSLR lenses with a lot of diameter adaptors (donuts) included as well as a nun's jacket. All articulations are precisely engineered. Can be adjusted quickly in length and height to fit many configurations. I use it with a Black Magic Cinema Camera, a Nikon D800 and a GH4 with either a Sigma 18-35 or a Sony professional B4 zoom. Not a cheap one, but stands the quality of Chrossziel with a more reasonable tag. All knobs are positionned at the right place and the filter trays are very solid and handy. 5
