Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 17.6 lb, adequate for a rigged-up DSLR or mirrorless camera, a smaller cinema camera, or a small ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload quick release plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the legs come out on their own (gravity) or dos the user have to open them manually (pull legs out)? Also, how good and easy are these twist locks? I prefer the clamp style, I fear these will take to long to adjust.

A: No current tripod should have legs that freely move; not only is it awkward, it can be dangerous to your fingers. This tripod has legs that stay in place and you need to move them. Twist or clamp; that is the external question. In the end it is a matter of personal preference. I find that pros tend to go with the twist. Today's twist locks are very quick, usually 1/2 turn or so and are not significantly slower than clamp locks. I also find that clamp levers get caught on every strap within a 10' radius. Miller is one of the high quality brands so you will find working with any of their products a pleasure.

Q: 2. Does the plate on this tripod allow for side loading or does it require you to slide it in from the front or the back each time?

A: No, the Miller AIR Fluid Head does not have side loading.

Q: 3. Does it include the case for transportation?

A: No, a case would not be included, but it would come with a carrying strap.

Q: 4. Is that a flat base mounting option for sliders?

A: Base Mount 75 mm Half Ball

Q: 5. Is the 3rd step of drag on the CX6 similar to the 5th step on the CX8 or is it less? Is the difference just fewer steps in-between or is it less drag overall?

A: Comparisons between the drag settings is not something listed by Miller on any head. The key in this case is that the CX8 offers more adjust-ability with 5 steps over 3 steps on the CX6. However we are not aware of a direct comparison between the steps.

Q: 6. Does it accept a Manfrotto 501 sliding plate?

A: We're afraid not. This head uses the Miller 1204 style plate. https://bhpho.to/2Use2dY

Q: 7. What is the height of the head to the flat mount (without the ball)? I'm looking to place this on a slider and travel jib.

A: The non-removable ball integrates a flat base. The dimension from the top to bottom is 6.0" / 153mm. https://www.millertripods.com/us/mwdownloads/download/link/id/6/

Q: 8. Do sachtler/manfrotto QR plates work with this head?

A: We're afraid not. This is compatible with Miller plates like BH #MI24CP. https://bhpho.to/2LTojyE

Q: 9. Does the head come with the quick release plate?

A: The quick release plate would be included.

Q: 10. Will the Miler CX6 fit on Sachtler Flowtech MS 75?

A: Yes, Miller CX series 75mm tripod heads, such as the Miller CX6 Fluid Head are compatible with Sachtler Flowtech MS 75 legs.

[8.33 lb] Meets my needs perfectly. Great value for the price.

[75 mm Half Ball] Have been a long time Bogen user looking for a good lightweight versatile tripod system. After seeing the DV20 in action at a videographers convention i was sold. Its rock solid even though I was used to a mid-level spreader. My first assignment was shooting a modeling segment and I loved the fact that I could get so low to the ground with this tripod.

[75 mm Half Ball] I own in the past many tripods including Sachtler. I love this tripod... the movement on the head is fantastic.

[8.33 lb] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.

[Yes] This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me.

[Fluid Head] This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

[Yes] There are many reviews on this tripod, but bottom line: it is excellent! It's reasonably priced and can accommodate a pretty heavy rig. I'm impressed. I love the next to nothing weight as well!

[Yes] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.
