Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this unit able to sync up with a Samsung 7 smart phone to play music? Am I able to purchase additional microphones for this unit at a later time if needed?

A: It will sync up with any smart phone - just has to have bluetooth capabilities (which all do). Wirelessly, you can only use the one microphone. But the XP106wDE also has 1/4 inch inputs and an xlr input so you could use additional wired microphones and/or instruments.

Q: 2. Do you wear the microphone on your head of around your neck?

A: The mic included in this kit is a Samson DE5 dual-ear headset, made to wear around the head. The two loops will support the headset on the user's ears.

Q: 3. How big is the actual Speaker?

A: Hello, Thank you for contacting Samson Technologies. This PA is 13.5 inches tall and 9 inches wide. If you have any other questions or inquiries, please let me know at any time. Best Regards, James

Q: 4. Can a bluetooth device beyond the headset connect to the speaker? For example, could it be connected to a bluetooth headphone set so that a student who is hard of hearing could have the sound directly into their ear while it was also broadcast over the speakers?

A: The Samson Expedition XP106wDE can play audio from Bluetooth devices, but it cannot send audio over Bluetooth to devices such as headphones. The included wireless microphone does not use Bluetooth, but rather a 2.4 GHz digital wireless connection similar to WiFi.

Q: 5. Can this be used with hands free mirophone that would attach to a lapel and not over the ear?

A: In addition to the wireless mic included with the XP106w the unit also features an additional XLR mic input jack. You can connect a separately available wireless system through this jack such as the Samson Samson UM1/77. a href= http://bhpho.to/1FTCUON target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1FTCUON/a

Q: 6. can it be used with a stand?

A: Yes. You may use the Samson LS40 Lightweight Speaker Stands (B&H#SALS40 ) designed for Samson Expedition Portable PAs.

Q: 7. can a wireless transmitter be hooked to a receiver 's speaker her. ?

A: I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. The thing that looks like a USB stick in the product photo IS a wireless transmitter. The transmitter plugs into the back of the speaker and relays input from the mic to the speaker.

Q: 8. Has anyone mounted this speaker to a stand? If so, which would you recommend?

A: The Samson Expedition XP106w features a standard 1 3/8 pole mount on the bottom of the unit for compatibility with most PA speaker stands. The Auray ss-4420 is a solid choice at a reasonable price.

Q: 9. can the system handle 2 wireless microphones?

A: Currently you cannot use two of the supplied XPD1 USB wireless systems simultaneously. You can however connect another standard wireless system to one of the additional inputs to use two wireless at one time.

Q: 10. what is batter life and how long does it take to recharge?

A: The XP106 has an internal, rechargeable battery capable of up to 20 hours of continuous audio on a full charge. Even though the system may have some charge when first taken out of the box, we recommend fully charging your XP106 before first using the system. An overnight charge as with a cell phone should be fine. FYI, The XP106 utilizes a sealed lead-acid gel cell battery. When not in use, the battery will slowly self-discharge. If you are planning not to use the XP106 for a long period of time, it is advised to fully charge the unit before storing. It is also important to charge the unit every six months when not used. This will ensure a healthy battery and extend its life. If the battery is left with a very low charge for an extended period of time, it is possible to recharge thebattery to working condition, but the charge time can take over 24 hours.

[4] Terrific system - haven't used it yet for our event coming up but tested it in various rooms - the quality is very acceptable and it projects sound very well. The stand is a must to position the amplifier properly and the stand is easy to install and setup.

[21.5 x 14 x 14"] I have this system in my classroom for a few days now and it just works seamlessly. No complicated adjustments... It just works!

[18 VDC at 1.5 A] I use this to give powerpoint presentations to groups of 100 or fewer. The headset microphone is great. If you take the windscreen foam off, it's almost invisible. There is a wire which you can run inside your shirt from the mic to a transmitter on your belt. There is a bluetooth receiver that plugs into the amp with a range is 30 or so feet. Using this set-up, paired with my logitech remote to advance the slides, I am free to walk around on the stage. It's all I had hoped for. P.S. it is very portable. It doesn't have a treble-bass adjustment.

[8 Hours] As a school library media specialist, I work in a large space with many students. Originally we ordered the system for use with guest speakers and large meetings, but now I use it every day. The amplification helps students hear directions and attend, without having to raise my voice. The wireless headset is very lightweight and easy to clip onto a lanyard.

[Bluetooth] The 100watt speaker is powerful for a medium size event. 20lb weight is easy to carry around. The battery powered feature is totally cable free. When there are no outlet available, this speaker does the job. I just don't like that the USB port is only for the Samson wireless microphone and no built-in wireless mic receiver for other mics.

[20 Hours] I have analyzed and researched before buying this product. I was choosing between this and the mackie freeplay, at the end after reading many user reviews, I opted for the samson. The truth is that the quality of the material, sound and two microphones system were pleasantly surprised. I used as speaker speech to 300 people and sounds good and sufficient even outdoors. I've also used as a speaker for listening to music via bluetooth outdoor to 150 people, and even with half the volume was great. I recommend buying this system so much. Only 3 suggestions: 1. incorporating a progressive indicator of battery life, 2. a bag carry and 3. an app for the smartphone.

[21.5 lb] I needed a small sound system for my daughter's outdoor wedding this summer so I looked and studied for several weeks before buying this unit. I am no novice to sound and was a little worried about the quality of this system for the price. I have experience operating $100,000+ systems at church, a municipal auditorium and run the sound at the American Legion World Series. I am no sound system snob, but want quality. When I received this portable PA system this morning and turned it on, I was blown away with the quality of sound when I paired it with my iPhone and started playing the Doobie Brothers. In addition, I was even more delighted with the sound quality of the two wireless mics. They may not be $2000 wireless mics, but they work well. Simple to pair mics with system. I even hooked the Samson system with another little Apollo system that I have had for years. It cost 4 times as much as the Samson and there is no difference in quality. The system packs lots of volume punch and maintains sound quality. I guess the only issue that I will be interested in is the battery performance. I can highly recommend this system to anyone needing a good portable sound system for a great price. It is about the size of a carry-on suitcase or an average camera bag.
