Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this lens do shooting into the sun? Considering it for a go-to landscape lens, including panos and I love to shoot backlit, but concerned about CA and bad flaring. Has anyone pushed it in these areas?

A: The consensus regarding this lens is that it is very sharp even at f/1.4, has very good build quality, has minimal CA and vignetting, has some flaring and for the price, it is a steal.

Q: 2. Forgive my ignorance; I am purchasing as a gift, will this lenses fit on a Cannon DSLR body? or on a Nikon DSLR body?

A: This version is compatible with 4/3 mount cameras. For Canon you will want: B&H # RO3514C MFR # RK35M-C and for Nikon: B&H # RO3514NC MFR # RK35MAF-N

Q: 3. This lens is listed as an 35mm but also states 56mm in the information; what is the deal??

A: The lens focal length is stated in relation to a full frame sensor. This lens is 35 mm when used on a full frame camera. This lens can also be used on cameras with APS-C sensors. The crop effect of a Canon APS-C sensor is 1.6X. The lens will have the field of view of a 56 mm lens (35 mm X 1.6 = 56 mm).

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with D3100?

A: Yes it is. The current Nikon mount fits virtually all lenses made for Nikon at least the last 30 years. The chip allows the body to talk to the lens for focus confirmation (it is NOT autofocus; manual only) as well as auto-exposure function.Exceptional lens for the price. Great for astro photos at f/4 or slower.

Q: 5. Is there a difference between the glass of the AE chip equipped lens and the fully manual lens?

A: There is no difference in the glass optics of the lenses. The only difference is the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Canon EF (AE Chip) incorporates an AE microprocessor that enables the camera to electronically confirm focus as well as permit camera-based control over exposure settings.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with FTZ adapter ,Nikon Z6 camera?

A: Yes it would be compatible but this Viltrox would be a better option since it would have AF and no adapter is needed: https://bhpho.to/3FF9Vnm

Q: 7. Will features like focus peeking work with this lens?

A: Yes, focus peaking would work with this lens and selected Sony E mount cameras with that function, like the A6000 for example.

Q: 8. Are these actually for the Flowtech 75? I haven't seen this locking design except on the version for the Flowtech 100. Researching the Manufacturer ID number also doesn't bring up anything conclusive and I can't find this product on the Vinten website.

A: yes these are for the Flowtech 75

Q: 9. Will this lens fit on a Pentax k-70 camera??

A: Yes, this will work on a K-70 camera, with an effective focal length of ~52mm.

Q: 10. will this work on a sony a7s ?

A: I bought mine for a micro 4/3 camera - the Lumix GH3, This particular mount is not compatible with the Sony system.

[Aluminum] I have never served in the military.... but I have hunted in North Mississippi for 30 years and this is by far the best rifle sight ive ever owned. Buy this sight you will not be sorry. I particularly like the red horseshoe. its so bright and clear. Anytime someone picks up my rifle and looks through the sight they make a comment on how much they like the sight. I'm glad they do not know how much it costs... but as the old saying goes... you get what you pay for.

[Aluminum] I put over a 1,000 rounds with this scope in three days and couldn't ask for a more accurate scope. The clarity is great, the illumination works really well for my old eyes, and reticle is accurate for .300 BO. Even the wife and daughter were hitting bullseyes. The only thing I changed was the mount to a Midwest Industries QD mount. I'd buy it again and probably will.

[Aluminum] battlefield tactical, quick target acquisition, would have liked trillium illumination, but it would have cost a lot more.

[Picatinny] I recently purchased a Trijicon 4x32 ACOG, and I am thrilled. The clarity, and ease of use of this optic has quickly led to it becoming one of my favorite sights. Trijicon has certainly lived up to it's reputation,
and B&H sent me exactly what I ordered.

[Aluminum] The only downside is that Trijicon is still quite behind in their production, so there was a fairly long wait for this. Optic is clear and bright. Both day and night reticle visibility is very good. Easy install of course. B&H had a very good price on this. A heads up that this RMR is always on at fixed brightness. Good in a tactical situation but you do need to keep in mind that regular battery replacements should be on your schedule. Highly recommended.

[Picatinny] very precise , up to 500 yards bulls eye without any difficulty . Top of the line optic , the best in my collection . I have it mounted on a Colt M4 Carbine 5.56MM caliber Magpul furniture.Never need batteries .

[35 mm] Received the optic earlier than the forecasted available date. BH delivered the item within 2 days and the product arrived with no issues. As for the ACOG and rmr combo, the ACOG has excellent glass and I truly enjoyed zeroing the red cross hair. (Downloaded The PDF manuals on trijicons website). The only part I disliked about the combo was the position of the RMR, because to zero the RMR on top of the ACOG I would have to change my sight alignment and lift my head up to see the RMR. Do to the current Unavailability of offset mounts, I was not able to purchase one prior to zeroing the ACOG. Regardless, the combo is great and once an offset mount is available, I will test and zero the RMR.
