Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Whats the Axis V2 Exterior made out of ? is the MultiCam Black and Black same material ? or is it a different grade (thickness)

A: According to Tenba, the Tenba Axis V2 Backpack (Black, 20L) is made of a 420D nylon with a proprietary 5PM top coating and 2x PU back coating that is super water repellant. The MultiCam version is made of a 600D polyester with DWR on top and 2x PU on the back. The MultiCam material is still water repellent but not as repellent as the original black material.

Q: 2. Is there access through the top?

A: The Tenba Solstice 20L Camera Backpack (Blue), can be used with access through the top, if you remove the removable separation divider.

Q: 3. The 16l size can be opened in front of the user like a table and never needs to be removed. Can the 20l be used the same way?

A: Tenba Axis V2 Backpack (MultiCam Black, 20L) allows you to attach the waist strap, remove the shoulder strap and turn the backpack to your front. Then open the backpack to retrieve the camera while the backpack is attached to your waist.

Q: 4. Is there a weight limit for packing the Tenba 20L? My gear weights 20 lbs when loaded. Will the backpack handle this weight without damage to the shoulder straps and handle? Thanks!

A: While in theory most backpacks can be rated for more, the truth is it will depend the stitching. In the case of the Tenba Solstice, since it is meant to be used as a reversible back-access backpack, it should have adequate enough strength around the shoulder straps and waist-belt.

Q: 5. Can you attach a lock on the zippers as the LT version does?

A: The Tenba Axis V2 Backpack (Black, 20L) does allow like the LT versions to attach a lock to the zipper.

Q: 6. Will this fit a 15in laptop

A: The Tenba Axis V2 Backpack is designed to fit a 14'' laptop. Since laptop sizes vary, it is recommended to compare your laptop to the size of the laptop sleeve, which is 9" x 14.5" x .75" (W x H x D). Regardless, most 15" laptops would not comfortably in the laptop sleeve. I would recommend getting the 24L version of this bag to assure a proper fit. https://bit.ly/3u5ODi8

Q: 7. Can a Nikon Z8 with an RRS Modular L-Plate fit through the side access door with a 24-120mm lens attached?

A: You will be able to fit the Z8 with the RRS L-Plate, but it will be a bit of a tight fit. I would recommend one size larger. The Tenba Axis V2 Backpack (MultiCam Black, 24L) would be a better fit.

Q: 8. Can the storage area be configured to fit a 300mm f2.8 lens with the hood reversed, and still have room for a shorter lens and a mirrorless body?

A: It is possible to configure the Tenba Solstice 20L to accommodate a 300mm f/2.8 with the hood in reverse and still have more room for other lenses as well as a mirrorless body.

Q: 9. Is the comfort of version two better than version one?

A: The Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 (Black, 20L) is more comfortable than version one.

Q: 10. How is the zipper area, can someone open the bag and grab the laptop, or the side, how easy is it for a thief to get your gear?

A: The Tenba Axis V2 Backpack (MultiCam Black, 20L) has two zippers on the front laptop pocket. This allows you to tie the zippers together with a locking component or to slip the zippers into each other making the pocket more difficult to open.

[4.255 lb] I own two cameras with PD Leash straps on them, and I must say it's one of the best camera straps ever made. But it's also not cheap, at almost $50 with sales tax. K&F Concept strap is NOT A COPY of Leash, it's a different take on the same concept. I like the buckle accents and the stitching as well as quick release - I don't think this quick release will come undone on accident. It's 15 cm longer than Leash, which is important for tall folks such as myself. One thing you do not get with K&F Concept is the lifetime warranty, only 1 year, but the product feels sturdy, like it will last way more than a year. If PD Leash quality is 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, K&F is a solid 8, maybe even 8.5. And at half the price it's a no brainer strap at least to try. I am keeping mine, it looks great on my Fuji X100F. Happy shooting!

[4.255 lb] My main concern was fitting 3 lenses, with hoods, and the camera. I didn't want a big bag but just enough to carry what I wanted. In one pic is a Nikon Z9 with a cage on it, a Nikon Z 135 Plena, Nikon Z 24-70mm, and Nikon Z 14-24, all tucked into the bag, with a little spot for my shutter release. In the top pocket of the bag are the hoods for each of the lenses. There is still a little room for some small items. There is a pouch for a tablet or laptop, but not sure what size will fit since I don't own a laptop.

Will be testing the bag out on my photo trip in October.

[Yes] Excellent back pack for carry-on travel. More than sufficient space for photo equipment AND 15 laptop!!!

[Blue] I purchased this to use for my flight since only one personal item was allowed. It fit everything I needed, easily fit over the handle of my carryon bag and under the seat. Sadly my carry on became a checked bag when all the space was used. At my connection I was able to manage it even over one shoulder. On my return home I was able to fit a couple of more items. Glad I purchased it!

[4.255 lb] I purchased this backpack recently from B&H, and while unique it is well constructed and easy to use.
The side loading compartment will take an aps-c dslr with lens mounted without risk of anything breaking in the front. The top closes with a zipper plus a strong strap.
Inside there is well padded laptop sleeve. On the outside is a pocket for a water bottle.

If you have a range of additional parts you'll need an insert to drop in.
The expandable top is best for light items, perhaps that sweater you didn't need to bring after all. And the attractive outer shell would repel light showers, with a rain cover included if required.

[Yes] I purchased a used Crown Graflex Large format camera with a reflector back. The f.64 is a reasonable price in comparison to other large format backpacks that cost twice its price. It has enough room to hold my 4x5 large format camera, the reflector back, another small camera, and accessories. The film pockets are removable, padded, and fit the 4x5 film holders.

[4.255 lb] Plenty of space and depth for my large and medium format gear. I have 2 of these packs. Great fit. I take this for miles and miles of hiking and it never lets me down.

[Yes] Got a great backpack that doesn't open up on it's own just because of a fully packed bag.

[Yes] I needed a pack to tote to work, on a hike, on short trips, and just a place to put my gear where I can have the peace of mind that it's protected and easy to grab and go. So far this pack has been great for everything I've used it for. I have a 15.6 laptop and a DSLR camera, several lenses, a tripod, as well as other random gear. There's plenty of room for all my stuff. It is also very customizable and it can be quickly adjusted to suit your trip/gear. The fabric seems super tough and the zippers are high quality. The square bottom is a handy feature, and - unless your gear is not evenly distributed weight-wise - it can sit upright on it's own anywhere you set it.
This bag definitely did not disappoint, and I expect it to last me for a long time!

[Blue] Great looks, lots of storage. Would have preferred snap to hooks on front straps for better security but hooks work ok. Included rain cover is nice. Side access and top access available but top compartment not very large if you use pockets inside (tight squeeze for my Z50 with small kit lens with charger in pockets). Almost perfect bag.
