The Miller Versa CXV10 Solo-Q 100 Carbon Fiber Tripod Kitfrom Miller Versa CXV10 Solo-Q 100 Carbon Fiber Tripod Kitis designed to accommodate a wide payload range, 16 steps of counterbalance with CB Plus for fine adjustments, as well as five selectable pan/drag settings. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 26.4 lb, adequate for a DSLR or mirrorless camera, a cinema camera, or an ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload quick release plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 3.9" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CXV10 is die-cast from a lightweight yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CXV10 will perform reliably. The base of the CXV10 is a 100mm ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CXV10 in dark environments. A fixed-length pan handle is included, and a second rosette is available for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The TFC-34 has different load capacities depending on the leg positions. I that also the case for the TVC-34?

A: Unlike the Really Right Stuff TFC-34 MK2 Series3 Ultralight Carbon Fiber Tripod (58.3"), B&H # RETFC34M2V2, the Really Right Stuff TVC-34 Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not have specified load capacities for each leg section. It's important to note that the stability and payload capacity may decrease when the thinner section is fully extended. The environment and surface the tripod is being used in may also affect the tripod. The overall payload for the TVC-34 is up to 50lb.

Q: 2. I'm curious of any recommendations for a tripod that can be used both for photography purposes, but also have the ability to mount a motorized astrophotography tracking head to it at a later time? Id rather splurge on the tripod, being I'd use it for both. Id like it to be backwards compatible with either / or, multiple types of head options (basically be as future proof as it could be). Any advice would be really appreciated! Budget, midrange, and top of the line suggestions would be awesome! Id end up buying a higher end ($1000-ish) tracking head. Willing to hear what else you all suggest! Thanks

A: The Robus RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod, BH # RORC5570 would be an excellent option at the lower price point based on your particular application. https://bhpho.to/3kPROj6

Q: 3. Does anyone know what the length is for the last leg extension? The one closest to the ground. Im trying to determine the tripod height if that leg extension is left in a retracted state, and if it would be a perfect tripod for me in that state. I am 4.3 in height.

A: The length of the last leg tube is 18 3/8", but I don't think that isn't the most accurate way to measure its height since the legs are at an angle. I measured the tripod's height with only the top two sections extended and it measures 51 5/8" (4' 3", what a coincidence).

Q: 4. what's the difference between tfc and tvc?

A: TVC models offer more flexibility for drop in ball heads and center columns where TC are fixed.

Q: 5. Is the Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head with Full-Size Lever-Release Clamp (Chrome) compatible with this TVC-34L Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod ?

A: Yes the BH-55 Ball Head is compatible with the TVC-34L.

Q: 6. What is an equivalent tripod of quality to the TVC34L as RRS are clearly having supply chain issues?

A: Equivalent tripod is this Gitzo GT4543LS Systematic Series 4 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Long) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1328241-REG/gitzo_gt4543lsus_systematic_tripod_ser_4_4s.html

Q: 7. What is the difference in the Versa Series 2, 3, and 4? What about in comparison to the Platform Ascend?

A: The difference is based on the focal length of your longest lens. Series 2 is for lenses up to 400mm, Series 3 is for up to 800mm, and Series 4 would be recommended for a professional cine camera. The Ascend is a lightweight travel tripod recommended for lenses up to 200mm.

Q: 8. I'm looking to buy leg wraps - what is the widest diameter of the legs?

A: The leg diameters on the Really Right Stuff TVC-34 Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod, are 36.7mm top leg diameter/ 33 / 28.5 / 24.7mm. Lenscoat recommends this one, https://bhpho.to/35sR4i5

Q: 9. Some tripods have a tendency to pinch the flesh of your fingers at the junction of top plate & the hinge. Is this one of them?

A: The Really Right Stuff TVC-33 Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not have a tendency to pinch the flesh.

Q: 10. Would the TVC or TFC version be better if I'm using a BH-40 ball head for photography? And for video, I'm using a Sony A7II. Thx.

A: The TVC version would be a more versatile option.

[Yes] This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

[+90° to -75°] Meets my needs perfectly. Great value for the price.

[Fluid Head] Great tripod. Light. Secure lock. Could not ask for better. Like it better than Sachlers since I hate the spreader. Used big Manfrotto's in the past. No comparison. Own a Gitzo as well, which is close to Miller but still like Miller. Will buy Miller again if I need another one.

[Yes] This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me.

[Yes] There are many reviews on this tripod, but bottom line: it is excellent! It's reasonably priced and can accommodate a pretty heavy rig. I'm impressed. I love the next to nothing weight as well!

[+90° to -75°] Purchased these sticks in Feb 2022 along with the CX10 head. Great range in height. Very stiff at any setting. Love getting a 100mm set of sticks for less than 6 pounds. A little awkward raising the height with camera attached. I extend the bottom sections first almost all the way... then it is easier to do adjustments on the top section without bending down too much or holding the tripod low with risk of camera tip. If a large change is needed, it is easy to pop off the camera with the side load plate of the CX head, adjust and pop it back on. I considered the flow tech system for adjustability... but the 75mm Vinten or Sachtler were as much as the 100mm Miller. The 100 mm flow tech was almost double. I love not needing a spreader. Remarkably stable sticks... and there is just something about a pan with a 100mm head that can't be accomplished with a 75mm.

[Yes] I use this for documentary filmmaking. The head is completely smooth and well built. The legs are very stable and easy to use.

[Yes] Have been a long time Bogen user looking for a good lightweight versatile tripod system. After seeing the DV20 in action at a videographers convention i was sold. Its rock solid even though I was used to a mid-level spreader. My first assignment was shooting a modeling segment and I loved the fact that I could get so low to the ground with this tripod.
