[1/4"-20 Male] I recently got this for three reasons. 1) To allow for the battery and SD card door to be opened for swapping battles and memory cards without having to unmount the camera from the tripod. 2) To have the ability to mount the selfie-stick right under the lens instead of off to the left where the current camera tripod is. 3) Add additional grip to the camera. The nice part if that the grip is detachable if you just want to use the cold shoe/door realignment plate. It adds a little bit of weight, but makes the camera more balanced. Glad I got this for the ZV-1 as it solves a few issues the ZV-1 has. 5
