Q: 1. Can Shelf be remove?

A: Yes they can be moved within the rack or removed altogether. The shelves are attached using 4 screws - just remove the screws and you can remove the shelves.

Q: 2. Are the fans hooked up to a hub in the case?

A: Information regarding the preexistence of a fan controller within the Montech X3 MESH Fans (Black) has not been provided by the manufacturer.

Q: 3. Can you mount it on a wall?

A: I don't think you'd be able to easily do that. It's a quite heavy unit and doesn't have wall mounting holes of any kind. Further, the back door opens up so you'd be blocking that.

Q: 4. Can it fit atx form motherboards?

A: Yes, this Montech X3 MESH Fans (Black) does fit ATX sized motherboards.

Q: 5. How many RUs tall is this?

A: The DRM is a 2RU high frame that can accommodate up to 12 of the smaller AJA Mini-Converters (D4 – D5 series and others of the same size), up to 6 of the larger AJA Mini-Converters (D10 or HD10 series), or a mixture of both. The DRM has a built-in 110/220V power supply with 12 connectors to provide 5V power directly to the Mini-Converters without the need for individual power supplies for each Mini-Converter.

Q: 6. Are the fans always on, or are they on a thermostat where they kick on and off as needed?

A: The fans within the Video Mount Products 19" Equipment Rack Enclosure with Pre-Loaded Cooling Fans (18 RU) are not currently thermostat regulated, although I am told that this option may become available soon. The fans in this unit run while the rack is plugged in, regardless of temperature within the rack.

Q: 7. Does this come with the power supply or do you have to purchase that separately?

A: Power supply is included.

Q: 8. Are the fans controlled by a thermostat? (An answer from over a year ago stated that this option "may become available soon".)

A: No, the fans in the Video Mount Products 19" Equipment Rack Enclosure are not regulated by a thermostat.

Q: 9. I know it says adjustable front and rear rack rails, but when it says 10-32, is that in inches? I do have aa longer-than-average amplifier head (rack mountable) that I am looking to put in something like this.

A: 10-32 refers to the standard threaded holes used in a rack. You amp would have to be 19-inches of less wide to be rack mounted. There is 19.9" usable depth in this rack case, and the height of 18 rack units (RU) is 31.5 inches.

[10 to 90% ()] I got this when I purchased my MSI Laptop as I like Thermaltake products, a laptop always needs cooling support and and a review suggested it would lower load temps by 10-15 degrees. Thought that might be hype, but guess what? It does. Try it on. 5

[5 VDC] Exactly what I wanted. Best features for me are the variable speed fans and the low noise level... so quiet it's easy to forget that it's on and leave it running overnight. 5

[Gray] Got this because my research indicated this one had good airflow with high pressure. I wanted greater airflow pushed to my laptop. This delivers. Has noticeably greater airflow then my other cooling pad. The fan is a little louder but it really does not bother me. I can also reduce the fan speed on this and at the lowest speed it still pushes lots of air. The only thing I don't like too much is the front edge stops. The stick up a little too high. But I've found that my laptop stay put without them so I just leave them folder down. Very satisfied with this purchase. 5

[5 VDC] Exactly as described. Great fit for my 14 laptop. On highest speed, no louder than the laptop’s own fan. Easy dial to adjust the speed anywhere from high to off. If the USB Y-splitter isn’t needed for extra power to the fan, that slot on the fan itself easily powers another USB peripheral. 5

[5 VDC] I bought this cooling pad after comparing with other similar products, it's rare that the db level is listed as its attribute. It is packed in a sturdy box, intuitive connection and usage. The fans are whisper quiet, and the blue LED light is great. I highly recommend this product. 5
