A: Wooden does not confirm compatibility with plates other than their own. However, you would be able to add the Wooden Camera Universal Dual 15mm Rod Clamp for Bolt-On Accessories to the 15mm rods on the ARRI LMS-4 plate. Also, Wooden recommends the following compatible parts: the Wooden Camera Bolt-On Accessory Rail Clamp (B&H # WOA00350) and the Wooden Camera Universal Accessory Hinge (3/8"-16 Male, 3/8"-16 Female), B&H # WOA00376.

Q: 3. Does anybody know why this device would only flash green with a Battery or USB-C hooked to it? No power delivery out to devices.

A: The SmallRig V-Mount Battery Adapter Plate with Dual 15mm Rod Clamp (BH # SM3203B) flashes green to indicate that power is connected.

A: The only Alphatron Follow Focus unit we have is the Triad RF-15. While that also connects to 15mm rods it has a different overall design. They are not the same product.

Q: 6. Does the follow focus ring adjust up and down or just in and out?

A: While you can move it closer/farther from the lens and closer/farther from the camera, you cannot move it up and down. The unit is nicely made and so far not being able to move it up/down has not proven to be a detriment.

Q: 7. Is it possible to use this with a Cambo Ultima setup? Does Cambo sell a focus whip knob for the Ultima system?

A: The Cambo CS-FC500 Flex Cable for Follow Focus is meant to be used with the CSMFC-1 Follow Focus Kit.

Q: 8. Would I be able to use this follow focus with a matte box on my rig? It looks like there's no space to mount a matte box and still be able to use the follow focus.

A: The answer depends on what is your rig, your camera, your lens and your matte box. Outside of that, I would say that you can extend the rods provided to accommodate most camera/lens/matteboxes available for this level of rig.

A: Yes, the 8Sinn 5" ARRI Dovetail Plate can mount above the Niceyrig Manfrotto QR Plate Kit with 15mm Dual-Rod Clamp using the Manfrotto QR plate 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws to attach the 8Sinn 5" ARRI Dovetail Plate.

A: This follow focus uses 0.8 pitch gears. 0.8 gears are the industry standard for follow focus rings in the cinema industry therefore this follow focus is compatible with most cinema lenses.

[0.5 lb] I have only had a little time to play around with it, but it seems well-built and it fits my Panasonic GH3 long lens perfectly. The rods are very long, though, probably much longer than needed for most lenses. This made it difficult to put the camera in a case with the rig on it. I swapped them out for shorter rods and now I can leave it set up on my camera with the lens so I can just grab and go. 5

[15 mm] I had a couple of follow focus over the last 12 years and was looking for a single-rod system since I want to scale down my rig. I ordered the new LanParte Mini follow focus cause it seems good for the price, but the tightening screw broke on the first use! The wheel is also quite small if you have big hands. This one is, of course more expensive, but you get what you paid for. Very, very smooth focus gearing, nice big wheel and easy to install. I found the one! 5

[15 mm] Feels well built, smooth rotation, the hard stops come in handy but cool that they can be removed for cine lenses. This section of the review is a response to Clark S.'s review. This FF has the correct direction of rotation for most lenses. The normal rotation for focus pullers is clockwise to throw focus towards infinity and counter clockwise to pull towards close focus. When you make marks on the marking disk this becomes apparent because your farther mark will appear farther away on the disk in relation to the location arrow. One work around is to mount a rail from the top and hang the ff upside down to reverse direction. 5
