Q: 1. How long does it take to put this luxbanx together?

A: If you keep the rods in the softbox, it should 1-2 minutes to put it together and mount it to your light after some practice.

Q: 2. Is there a separate cap or cowl that wraps around the strobe and covers any open space between shell and strobe or there flaps attached to the shell?

A: it has 4 velcro flaps that connect snuggly around speed ring.

Q: 3. Can I use this with my Impact VC-500WLN 3-500Ws Digital Monolight with Transmitter Kit?

A: This item does not come with a mounting ring. You might want to confirm with B&H which impact mounting ring to use. I found a used Bowens ring locally at my nearby camera store and picked it up for $20. It has the same configuration as impact. Mine mono light was the VC300 or 320 and I'd say your 500 very likely has the same mounting configuration.

Q: 4. It is easy to fold and set up?

A: it assembles like a normal old style octa box. With practice , yes, it's easy. the first couple of times will be a lesson in how to do it.

Q: 5. I;m confused I have a Rovelight that takes bowens speed rings. What do I need to make this work?

A: I have a bowens strobe light, but the bowens speed ring made by Impact does not fit on the bowens strobe because the base of the speedring is not deep enough, and, therefore, blocks the pin from clicking and locking the speedring around the strobe. The base (neck) of the Impact speedring needs some shaving with a router. I'm thinking of shaving some metal at the base of the speedring to make more clearance.

Q: 6. Compatible with an Aputure 600D?

A: The Impact Speed Ring for Impact, Bowens S, Westcott & Aputure, BH # IMSRIMPV2 would be needed in order to mount this softbox to the Aputure LS600d.

Q: 7. I have the Neewer S-Type Bracket Holder with Bowens Mount for Speedlite Flash. Will I need to buy the Speed Ring? Pardon my ignorance. Thank you in advance.

A: To elaborate, the softbox will connect to the speed ring. The speed ring will connect to the bracket holder.

Q: 8. Can I use it with godox SL-150?

A: Yes with the use of B&H # IMSRIMPV2 speed ring

Q: 9. Is there an egg rate grid available for this?

A: There are no egg crates designed specifically for use with the Norman 60 Octagonal Softbox. It is possible that the Impact Fabric Grid for Medium Octagonal Luxbanx (60 ), B&H # IMLBGOM, or the FotodioX Pro Eggcrate Grid (60 ), B&H # FOEGG60OCTEZ, may work for your usage needs. However, as the Norman 60 Octagonal Softbox is a special order item, we have no way to test the above. However, if you wish to purchase either of the egg crates, they are both returnable if they do not work for your usage needs. You would have 30 days from the purchase date to return the item for an exchange or refund if it does not work for your usage needs.

[Yes (Included)] I have had this softbox for over a month now. I am very pleased with it. This was the first softbox I'd bought myself - everything else I've ever had was inherited from other photographers. Came with the grid. Great white light. I've struggled in the past due to my other lights being too warm for my liking. This paired with my newer lights is great. Definitely recommend. 5

[2.865 lb] i was looking at the Profoto modifiers (I use D1s) but wanted to give the 5' Impact octa a try. I am very pleased with it but it is slightly challenging to put together and even a bit more to take apart if you're alone. I suspect anything this size will be, no matter the brand. It was quick enough though, and feels solid. I haven't used it enough to discern any lighting quality difference with the Profoto ones, or Chimeras. The 5' is a good size, I imagine it won't be too much trouble to use in cramped spaces (I was looking at the 7' as well.) But for sure if money is important, this seems an excellent alternative, given that this softbox costs $200 AND COMES WITH A GRID where the Profoto equivalent will run you about $900 with the optional grid... a very good value to be sure. 5

[Yes, Removable] Very easy to set up. Very sturdy. The post did not fit my speed ring because they were a little wider but my other softboxes were a lot smaller too. Just double check to see if you need a different speed ring. I was so excited to use my softbox and then had to wait another week because I had to order a different speed ring. 5

[Yes] The soft box is pretty big, I believe the 48 size would have been sufficient for my home studio. I really dont have the ceiling height to raise it as tall as Id like to. It was a little bit of a bugger to put together because I lack strength in my arms, but it was doable. Definitely get good sandbags for the base of the light stand. Im using a Profoto B1 with my Octa, along with the recommended speed ring (Angler Speed Ring for Profoto, BH# AN7464PRO). I received a free grid for it (doing my happy dance). 5

[2.865 lb] A great value for the money. Don't bother with the 100-130 dollar cheapy options when much higher quality is availible for just a few dozen dollars more. Trust me, I tried the cheap options first. Wasted my time, should have went straight for this. High quality contruction, no noticable color cast. Just make sure you have heavy duty brackets to mount this puppy to your lights! Its heavy! I found that the brackets that were fine for 36 boxes didn't come close to being able to hold this so I had to order tougher hardware. 5

[Yes (Included)] First time using an Octabox and let me tell you I am impressed!. It's a little tough to get together sometimes (depending how lazy you are feeling that day mind you). I do fashion portrait and wow do I ever notice a beautiful difference compared to the harsh light of an umbrella!. Going to be ordering another one but smaller for headshots. This Octabox is definitely perfect for full body shots!. 5
