Depending on the load, I would have liked the legs to spread more. To answer your question, in comparison to the flex/stability of the Manfrotto legs, it is as stabile as them, albeit without the spread of those legs in terms of width. This was an upgrade for me from the Manfrotto 546B Legs. No regrets thus far
