[0.16 lb] In my previous two reviews, I raised alarms about the flash not working on any Sony APS camera. The nice people at Godox in China retested the product on the Sony APS cameras in their labs for me, and assured me that it does work on those cameras. So I bought another one from B&H and can confirm that it does work on ALL Sony cameras.

I am glad that it does work. It’s the perfect supplement for cameras without built-in flash. I like it’s design. I like it’s simplicity. I like that it runs on a built-in lithium battery and can get up to 400 flashes.

I am OK with its being non-TTL. I think I can get better exposures than the TTL process by dialing in the power level. I have a small spreadsheet I developed on my iPhone in which I enter the guide number, distance, ISO, and f stop I want to use, and it calculates the power level to set. Works well. Not affected by subject reflectivity, subject size or position within the frame, or distance between subject and background.

And I am OK with its low power, because I only use slow sync flash, and use available light for the background, and only use flash to light up the subject, not the entire scene. So the size is only as big as it needs be for that purpose. But I do wish it had even less power available, I.e., 1/32 and 1/64 power levels, so I could use higher ISO without over-exposure.

It’s other major design flaw is that the pointer for the power level is too small to be seen in dim light. You have to find the level by counting clicks.

Any similar size alternatives with more power and TTL exposure from other manufacturers cost three times as much.

[0.16 lb] This little dome does a good job of softening the light from your Godox flash.

[0.16 lb] I purchased this second reflector for my flash so I can paint it white to give a softer look to the light. I might get a third to paint it gold to warm the light. I like the look for the flash with the silver reflector, but I wanted more options in the light's look and feel.

[Reflector] … made it a 5 star product where I gave the lux senior 4 stars. Godox tells yo what the default setting is for auto! Yes, the auto setting is weaker than even 1/8 manual, but now I have a baseline to work with.

[Reflector] Despite being affordable, this reflector is perfectly capable and sturdy enough for any work.

[0.16 lb] Since I originally purchased this product in order to have an inexpensive way of adapting some current modifiers to my new Bowens-mount equipment and have yet to start chopping them up, I cannot comment on how well they work for my intended purpose. However, I've used them on all my heads, they fit very well, and they are very sturdy. Can't see why they wouldn't work well for anyone.

[Reflector] I don't care at all about the retro stying. The reason that I bought it is purely for the function and form factor. It is a powerful bare-bulb flash that can be comfortably hand-held off-camera in wireless TTL mode. The folding fan reflector gives a nice quality of light when held close to portrait subjects, and the bare bulb and coming modifier options make it very versatile. Very pleased with the form factor: 8.25 inches long, x 1.5 x 4 with the reflector folded but attached, weight 1 lb .06 oz. I'm comparing it to my Godox AD100 which weights 1 lb 3.3 oz, 5 x 3 inches. The Lux Master fits nicely in a padded Tamrac pouch and will be easy to strap on a bag. As for tested output, at 10 ft ISO 100 the Lux Master reads f/5.6.5 vs AD100 at 35mm setting f/8.5. So about a stop slower. At 45 degrees off access it looses about 2/3 stop. I'm guessing equivalent watt seconds at about 50. I will use it hand-held off camera with the compact XNano transmitter for documentary work, sometimes with reflector and sometimes bare bulb. (Do wish battery was interchangeable.)
