Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be operational in 220-240v region?

A: It cannot it is not a dual voltage product US only.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Zoom H8?

A: yes. The Polsen MO-IDL1-MK2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for DSLR Cameras and Smartphones (20' Cable) BH #POMOIDL1MK2 will work with the Zoom H8 8-Input / 12-Track Portable Handy Recorder BH #ZOH8.

Q: 3. Can it work with Zoom H5n?

A: Yes it's comparable with the Zoom H5N, however you will need a 3.5mm to XLR adapter in order make the connection into channel 1 and channel 2, you can use the adapter in the link bellow. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/387850-REG/Rode_VXLR_VXLR_Mono_Mini_Jack.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 4. Is this item blue or black?

A: The windscreen is Black. That pic is misleading.

Q: 5. How do you regulate the volume of each mic?

A: The mic (or multiple mics) will need to be connected to a mixer, amplifier or powered speaker and the volume of each mic can be regulated by adjusting the volume control for the individual input or input channel that it is connected to.

Q: 6. Does a 4-pole version exist? Or can you use a 4-pole splitter with this item to work on a laptop / mobile device?

A: The AKG MK HS MiniJack Headset Cable for PC is a proprietary cable meant to be used on AKG HSC/HSD line headsets. These headsets feature a 6 pin connection and the use of a 4 pole splitter may not be wired correctly for such headsets.

Q: 7. I want to hook this up to a desktop base station to communicate via FSR/GMSR. The mic connection to my desktop radio is 2.5mm (female) stereo. Could I use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter (4 conductor), and then pair that to a 4-pole 3.5mm male to AV 4 pin screw solderless shield connection? Of course, apply heatshrink over the solderless shield to reduce chance of corrosion and better secure the bond.

A: This mic was not designed to be connected to that style of mic connection, and any attempt to connect multiple adapters can not be guaranteed to work. With relay contacts and possible impedance mismatches being potential issues, I would not recommend it.

Q: 8. Looking at this, the Countyman B6 and the Sanken COS-11D for a documentary I'm doing for a hospital in a small African country this summer. I know the B6 and 11D are highly regarded, but given the $ and my need for 2-3 mics while paying for them out-of-pocket, I want to find the best bang-for-buck without sacrificing a lot in sound quality. My big question before trying it is, how is the self-noise and handling-noise on this unit? Thx in advance.

A: The Microphone Madness MM-MSLM is an excellent microphone for the money, relatively quiet, and not too bad on the handling noise. You may want to pick up some hush lav quieting sleeves (used with the sanken lavs) to better isolate the microphone from rustling noise. Also, please not the microphone requires power via bias voltage; 1 to 9 VDC.

Q: 9. What is this?

A: A handheld mic

Q: 10. Is the output stereo with each mic on its on channel?

A: Each microphone on the Polsen MO-IDL2-MK2 Dual Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for DSLR Cameras and Smartphones (20' Cable) is mono, and the output is dual mono.

[Omnidirectional] Sending TA3s in a Zoom F8 to a Headphone AMP. Clean signal...no noise.

[Plug-In Power] I purchased the WA451 TA3-F to XLR-M Cable by Shure, to use with a Shure FP5 battery powered receiver. With its solid connection at the XLR fitting and stress absorbing coiled cord, its perfect for quick set-up, staying out of the way and portability. On the downside; I found it a bit pricy for 1 foot of cord, but it carries every sound I make...which is the only thing of importance in my business, so I knew there would be no substitute.

[Tan] I purchased this as a replacement for a well-used and worn-out microphone. The manufacturer's part # along w/ B&H's photo allowed me to be confident that I was ordering the correct product. It worked well and B&H's price was great.

[Omnidirectional] Had a earlier model of this mic that went bad, so we replaced it with this one. Our pastor says he prefers the way these feel on his bald head and I love the way it sounds. Worked great with our Sennheiser wireless transmitter. Wouldn't have guessed that this tiny mic would carry the value of its price, but in hindsight I'm glad I found it.

[Omnidirectional] I bought 2 of these to test & potentially replace 4 beyerdynamic MPC 66 boundary mics. The problem with the MPC 66 is they were picking up alot of excess humm in the room from HVAC and other noises. The 'professional' audio installers claimed no improvement could be made. I went out on a gamble in search of the best boundary mic to replace it and decided on these. These are AMAZING! They blew the other mics out of the water. No hummm, no HVAC pickup. Clean voice. These work better than expected and would purchase again.

[Omnidirectional] I use them with the Rode stereo videomic X on the Panasonic eva1. I can attach the Rode stereo videomic X on top of a cheese plate in different spots & know the cables will reach without being too long or short.
