Q: 1. Whats the filter size?

A: The Viltrox EPIC 35mm T2.0 1.33x Anamorphic Lens (Sony E) has no front filter threading to take a filter with at all.

Q: 2. Are they compatible with the Metabones RF-PL Cine 0.71x Speedbooster? Will they mount correctly?

A: As the rear element of the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit with Case (ARRI PL, Amber Flare) protrudes approximately 15mm from the flange, these lenses will not be compatible with the Metabones ARRI PL Lens to Canon RF-Mount T Cine Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x (EOS-R).

Q: 3. Can we use this with a speed booster?

A: The Viltrox EPIC 35mm T2 1.33x Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (PL Mount) (B&H# VI35T20133X) has a long and invasive rear element. As of this time, there no speed booster made specifically for it, not for its sister lenses in its line. However, if you can find one that can accommodate the rear element then it could be used with a speed booster. It would likely also need a lens support.

Q: 4. Can this lens adapter be used with a lens with 49mm threads using step-down rings?

A: Yes, the BLAZAR LENS 1.35x Anamorphic Adapter could work with step rings. The rear attachment ring size for this lens model is 67mm. Sensei 49-67mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring BH #SESUR4967

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Mofage PL to L mount adapter?

A: B&H does not test compatibility of adapters with lenses. Because the BLAZAR LENS Remus 65mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic Lens (ARRI PL, Amber Flare) has not yet been released, there has been no information made available on this subject.

Q: 6. Would this fit on the Blackmagic 6k pro?

A: Yes, the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45mm T2.0 1.5x Anamorphic Lens (Canon EF, Blue Flare) is compatible with the Blackmagic design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro.

Q: 7. Will it require PL-EF adapter for Canon EOS Rebel t7, or have built-in EF mount without a protrusion that's too big?

A: This model of the Remus 65mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic Lens (Canon EF, Blue Flare) comes natively with built in EF Mount. The Remus 65mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic Lens (Canon EF, Blue Flare) does not require a adapter to work with EF mount bodies. Compatibility with EF-S mount DSLR body's may vary.

Q: 8. Does this fit new Blackmagic Full Frame Cinema Camera?

A: Yes, the Viltrox EPIC 35mm T2.0 1.33x Anamorphic Lens (Leica L) is compatible with the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Leica L).

Q: 9. I own the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens. Great lens. Any advantages of owning both lenses? Please highlight uses and advantages of owning both the Canon EF 50mm F/1.2L USM and the Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L II USM. Thank you.

A: A 50mm lens would have less distortion which makes it better than a 35mm for normal shots such as portraits. Also being an f1.2 allows it to be used in lower light.

Q: 10. What is the PL mount clearance of these lenses?

A: The PL mount clearance of the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit with Case (ARRI PL, Blue Flare) is approximately 15mm.

[Full Frame] I bought 2 wish.. I bought whole set at one time.

these are industry changing budget lenses. Like the sigma art line did for photography.

[82 mm] I just received this lens set TODAY so please take this all with a grain of salt. This is also being done without shimming so there may be a little bit of blurriness that normally wouldn't be there. I added 2.39 bars to help see what an end image may look like.

I really wanted to see the differences between the Great Joy Set and the Remus. I've uploaded some photos to help people choose.

Overall I think I may go with the Remus as they seem to actually sharpen up closely to the Great Joy's when opened to 2.8T. they also seem to actually have a little more color constancy between each other (However, I did my test on a cloudy day so the sun may have played a factor).

To play to the favor of the Great Joy set they are a little cleaner and I would say might be a better set of lenses for commercial style work where as the Remus set seem to lean into the Narrative a bit more.

Hope this is a little helpful! Both sets of lenses are totally worth the money.

[Full Frame] I am not really able to compare it to the others in the set yet… but it’s a safe bet this is the weakest of the 4 or 3if FF only. Partially just from to the focal length not conveying the look as strong as the wider lenses but also it really works best stopped down a tad…as it’s rather soft wide open. However I am def still very impressed by the overall quality and quality of these… they don’t feel cheap just small … shockingly small. The 100mm in PL is smaller than my RF 50mm f1.2! Impressed by this but it comes at the cost of some obvious chromatic aberrations… still for the money this is great and 1.5x may seem to enough squeeze the bokeh and flares look very anamorphic to my eyes shockingly so.
If you order just one maybe the 45mm 65mm or if your on smaller than 17mm high S35 sensors… get the 35mm . This lens great but don’t make it your only option.

[55mm] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[16] Excellent value! Just make sure to buy a 82mm close-up vivitar lens set as well as it will make this lens a lot more useful and also mitigate some of its weaker points. Weight is great as well. Overall this is a very good mix of Anamorphic bliss for full frame sensors and image quality especially when you want flares a little more controlled. I'm using it with the Red V-Raptor VV.

[T2] I’ve had many of the affordable anamorphics that are out. They were all disappointing with their pinstripe flares. Pincushion distortion, and otherwise forgettable image.

These are not that! These have the character that one looks for in more expensive lenses like the Atlas Mercury’s. And in my experience with both, the Mercury’s and now owning the Remus’ I cannot imagine spending 10x the amount for the Atlas Mercury lenses when these exist.

These were one of the best and most surprising purchases I’ve ever made.

It’s clear that China is not messing around and are coming for blood, because these are killer!

[ARRI PL] I've been on the hunt for some budget Anamorphic Lens, and saw some reviews online on these Viltrox EPIC lenses. I took a chance and bought the three lens set. When I shot some test footage, I was really blown away at how much character these lenses have and the quality of the image. I tested the set on both the Sony FX 3 and an Arri Amira. The 50 mm and 75 mm are both very sharp wide-open and the 35 mm is very good around T/2.8. The only negative which applies to nearly all anamorphic lenses is the minimum focusing distance isn't as close as I wish it was. I wound up purchasing a diopter to obtain close focus. What's really great about these lenses is that they are usable for any type of project due to the fact that the squeeze factor is only 1.33X. And even though they have a smaller squeeze factor than many other anamorphic lenses these cover full frame and have some nice anamorphic characteristics in the image. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I am enjoying using these lenses.

[55mm] image rendered so great. with Bmcc6k full frame camera has a bit vignette, but if scale up the clip like 1.1x in davinci resolve can get rid of vignette.and I can live with that. With sigma MC-21 adapter is enoght tight to not worry abot it.

[Silver] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[ARRI PL] When I saw the many video reviews and demos of the Remus Lenses and the price for a set, I knew that they were going to be my first venture into anamorphic lenses.

Although it took almost 3 months to get the set, it was well worth the wait. I recommend this model, for it's budget and it's quality build. It's really amazing.
