This Light & Motion Quick Switch Battery StellaPro Reflex S LED Flashfrom Light & Motion is an updated swappable battery handle for the Reflex S LED light system. This higher capacity battery delivers 9000 lumens at full power for 40 minutes in continuous mode on one charge. It also delivers 18,000 lumens at full power for over 10,000 flashes in digital burst mode on one charge. This lithium-ion battery can be charged from a separately available USB-C power supply with a recommended minimum output of 45W. It features a 1/4"-20 threaded port on its base for multiple mounting options.

Q: 3. Does anyone know what the Guide Number for this unit is? It is not listed in the specs on this page.

A: Guide numbers are measurements of light, measuring the intensity of light from a single flash falling on a subject, and is usually used for hot shoe strobes or flashes built into cameras. Watt-seconds is a measurement of energy, measuring the amount of energy stored and released by the strobe. There is no simple conversion from one source to the other, as the units are not measuring the same thing. Also, guide numbers measured from the same strobe can change, depending on the reflector used or the spread of light (which is why the same strobe with a guide number measurement at a wider focal length will be lower than the exact same strobes guide number measured at a longer telephoto focal length). Watt-second measurements (the amount of energy the strobes capacitors can hold) remain consistent, regardless of the reflector used on the strobe. All that being said, with the caveat that there is no real correlation between guide numbers and watt-seconds, a rough conversion would be a 160 watt studio strobe would roughly equal a guide number of 51 in meters and 167 in feet when using a reflector with a 35mm light spread.

A: The mount on the Light & Motion Barndoors with Filter Holder for Reflex Stella Pro and Reflex S Pro Lights is specifically designed for use with the Light & Motion StellaPro Reflex LED/Flash Head and the Light & Motion StellaPro Reflex S LED/Flash Head.

Q: 9. What is the sync voltage to trigger this flash?

A: I plug the SF-ABRL into the wall socket which is 110 volts. I use a transmitter and receiver set up on the hot shoe of my Nikon. The receiver is connected on my main light. I set the SF-ABRL to receive the flash output from the main light. The sync voltage at this point, after receiving the flash, and setting off the flash of the SF-ABRL would need to be pretty miniscule as it is only a triggering device to make the unit flash, as the flash itself is powered by the 110 volt electric current. I do not know the sync voltage that triggers the switch to fire the flash as it is all electronic, but I'm sure you could find out by calling the manufacturer.

Q: 10. Can this be used with a beauty dish? And if so, what would I need to put the dish on?

A: Unfortunately, this flash cannot accept a beauty dish.

[Lithium-Ion] High quality product - I have been using Light&Motion products for over 5 years. They are built tough! They are reliable and worth the price. The night sea is a specialized blue used to see underwater fluorescence during the night. I use a yellow barrier filter to photograph these beautiful colors underwater. This light is for explorers, divers, researchers, scientists and nature lovers. 5

[71 Wh] If you don't have AC and need to work more than 1-½ hours on location, then you need an extra battery. Wish there was a separate charger for the battery. Instead it must be charged in the Beacon handle. 5

[1.81 lb] I am familiar with Light & Motions battery integrated cinema lights (also can run off AC) and was surprised they even made a 10,000 lumen, flicker-free model. Its lighter and smaller than any of the heavy duty stuff Ive been lugging around. It comes with a decently long AC cord but you can easily use a Dtap and run your own batteries at remote locations. This is the power and quality I can use on all kinds of shoots, especially being fully dimmable. Throw on a dish or softbox and Light & Motion offers modifiers like a 25 degree Fresnel, barn doors, CTO sets, etc. Excellent high power lighting option! 5

[1.81 lb] I'm very impressed with the Light & Motion Reflex S 2-Light Kit. The lights work flawlessly with Godox transmitters. The lights are high-speed and don't need to recycle like traditional flashes. This kit is a game-changer for sure. 5

[Lithium-Ion] These compact lights are simply amazing. they deliver the goods that is power and lots of light and at a fraction of the size of other lights in this power class. the simple light shaping tools are actually quite impressive. for some jobs I have been using the ring adaptor to leverage my profoto soft boxes as well. 5

[71 Wh] It took a bit for the battery to charge, but once ready, it is easy to use and small, which works well because I do lots of events. I have only used it once for a video shoot (interview) and so far it lives up to the hype. I was able to bounce light from the wide optic and natural light from a window. It removed the shadow off the subject and enough light on their face. Looking forward to taking this out in the field. I have not yet tested the strobe lights yet but looking forward to it. 5
