[0.075 lb] I was hesitant to invest in propriety filters for my Tilta Mirage matte box, but the low price, light weight and performance make them a good value. I just hope Vaxis continues to offer them, as filters can break or get scratched. The 1/8 filter is very subtle, which may be exactly what you want. It blooms highlights and practical lights in the shot, but doesn't seem to do much for skin tones. I need to shoot more with this one, but I will purchase a 1/4 mist for stronger effect. I will also invest in a set of the Vaxis IRND filters, as the Mirage's VND filter has a bit of a yellow/green cast. The cast isn't hard to dial out with a custom white balance on set or color work in post, but reviews of the IRND filters indicate they have much less cast to deal with. The Tilta Mirage is a nice system, and unless someone else produces circular filters for it, the Vaxis filters are the only option. Thankfully, it's a good one. 5

[0.075 lb] Although I think this is priced a bit on the high side, I have to say that it is another example of Tilta doing great engineering and manufacturing. I've become a huge fan of Tilta in recent years. I'd buy this again. 5

[0.075 lb] I use this filter on every exterior night shot, most interior night shots, and most close-ups. My lenses already have a nice soft focus to them, so combined with this, it really gives that nice cinematic touch. I typically just bounce between three filters for everything I do; a VND, a circular polarizer, or this 1/8 Black Mist (All are Vaxis via a Tilta Matte Box). If I had lenses with a sharper focus, I might have jumped to the 1/2, but for my setup, the 1/8 hits to spot without overdoing it. 5

[4.9 x 2.6 x 1"] This filter does a nice job softening the digital edges in a very subtle way (might be too subtle for some, but great for news/doc to not overdramatize the look.) Fits great with Tilta Mirage, eager to compare to Tilta's new Illusion line. 5

[0.075 lb] I'm planning to shoot a week of all-day interviews in the future and am concerned about the possibility of thermal shutdowns. To address this, I’ve purchased the Tilta Khronos Cooling System from B&H for added safety. Before buying, I wasn’t aware that the unit could also charge the iPhone while cooling. It fits perfectly using MagSafe on all my cages, including SmallRig, Neewer, BeastGrip, and my customized system. The Khronos Cooler is made from titanium and is surprisingly light at 106.5g. It has two power modes and two fan speeds. At full speed, it’s extremely quiet. The sound level couldn’t be detected above ambient noise using a decibel app on my iPad placed beside the fan. The unit is very sturdy, and its body functions as a heat sink. In an amateur, unscientific cooling test, the Khronos unit cooled down by 9°C (17°F). I plan to recommend this unit to my students. 5

[4.9 x 2.6 x 1"] So easy to change the filter when changing lenses. And the cimage produced is very nice. Very little color shift. And there are hard stops for the ND which is great. The Black mist makes a more filmic image and the CPL helps with skies and also reflections. 5
