A: No, suggest just using a threaded screw on cap if really needed.

A: It will be a few thousandth of an inch under 85 mm. That provides slip on at low effort with grip strength from the resilience of the plastic material snug on the outside of the lens barrel. Dimension based on outer diameter of barrel not filter thread size.

A: No. It's too big to fit this lens. The 85mm will fit 82mm filter thread. I think you will need the 61mm Kaiser cap

[0.13 lb] This product fits any 67mm lens and works well with my Zeiss 100mm/2 and 25mm/2 ZF.2 lenses. It's a superior design to the caps Zeiss has been using on all their ZF, ZE and ZM lenses. This one actually works like it should. It's easy to mount on the lens front, stays put and doesn't fall off unexpectedly, and easier to remove deliberately. I can even take it off using thin gloves. It can be easily mounted and removed even with the hood in place on the 25mm/2. I hope Zeiss offers this type of cap in other sizes (43mm, 46mm, 58mm and 77mm). Looks nice too with the blue Zeiss logo. The only negative is the cost. 5
