  • Unlike hard plastic mounts, The Windbubble PRO's soft rubber mount absorbs shocks and stops vibrations transferring to your mic's capsule.
  • In addition, the rubber mount has a slight, conical shape inside, which prevents you to push your microphone too far into the windshield. This is very important to ensure that your microphone has a "bubble" of dead-air around the capsule for optimal wind protection and audio clarity.
  • This means that your mic will consistently stay in the best possible position inside the windshield, making it possible to engineer a smaller, overall profile for the Windbubble PRO without compromising on the efficacy of the wind protection.

  • The rubber mount holds the furry windshield firmly in place on your mic, making sure it doesn't slip off mid-shoot.

  • The Windbubble PRO utilizes the company's multi-pile faux fur specially designed with varying lengths of fur to help gradually slow down the wind before reaching the mic.
  • The base of the fur has a higher density of shorter hairs and an acoustically transparent backing material for maximum frequency transparency.
  • The mic's capsule is kept in a calm bubble of wind protection and allowed to perform at its best.
  • The Bubblebee fur is less shiny than others to better blend with skin, clothes, and other surrounding materials.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a RODE VideoMic (not Pro) that I mount on my camera's hot shoe. I find when I look through the viewfinder that the rear of the microphone assembly is pushing against my forehead. It's not comfortable, it defeats the damping effect of the mount, and I can't get my eye fully up to the viewfinder. Is the clearance the same on the Pro? Any suggestions on how to mount the mic further forward to avoid this problem?

A: You could simply add a small extention to the camera shoe to move the mic forward a bit. . https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/752863-REG/Vello_SE_10_SE_10_Hot_Shoe_Extension.html

Q: 2. Will this work on a Nikon D90 or 750

A: The Nikon D90 does not have a mic input. However the D750 does, you will be able to use this microphone with the Nikon D750.

Q: 3. How far from subject can mic be placed from subject before too much noise?

A: Hello Kevin, the TX-M2 transmitter operates up to 100 meters/328 feet. Note that this is under perfect conditions and best practices include good line of sight, limiting WIFI interference, and keeping a well charged battery.

Q: 4. Can it be connected to rodecaster duo via wireless connection?

A: The RODE TX-M2 Handheld Wireless Microphone can only be wirelessly connected to RodeLink wireless mic receivers (Rode RX-CAM). That is how you would establish a wireless connection, and then the receiver can be physically connected to an audio interface such as the RodeCaster Duo.

Q: 5. Can I replace the 3.5 mm cable since it's demadged?

A: The attached 3.5mm TRS cable is not user replaceable. Please contact RØDE directly for repair: RØDE: Tel: (562) 364-7400 or (888) 412-4664 Email usasupport@rodemic.com

Q: 6. Can two of the Rode Interveiw Pros connect to one Wireless Go II receiver?

A: Yes, two units of the RODE Interview PRO Wireless Handheld Condenser Microphone can be connected to a single RODE Wireless GO II receiver at the same time.

Q: 7. I have this mic but with the old mount with rubber bands. Is the Rycote Lyre Shockmount compatible with the old mic and if so is it available by itself?

A: It's not technically compatible, but after seeing Phillip Bloom do this I also bought the Lyre and mounted my original Rode VideoMic Pro on it and have used it for the last 5 years without issue. https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=19627.0

Q: 8. I received this microphone and I was hoping to use it on top of my Sony Handycam. Unfortunately, it is not the same type of fitting. I can't find an adaptor. Any thought? (Aside of using one of those mounts)

A: To mount the Rode VideoMic Pro to a Sony Handycam or similar camcorder will require a mounting bracket. The Vello CB-510 is a recommended mount.

Q: 9. Would this be fully compatible with Linux as well? if not, what would be missing?

A: The Mackie DLZ Creator XS Adaptive Digital Streaming Mixer is currently not compatible with Linux computers.

Q: 10. Does it have a 3.5 connection? I need a new mic for another brand transmitter?

A: The MINIFUR-LAV by Rode is only a windshield. No mic included. The Rode Lav however which is pictured for reference, features a proprietary connector that allows you to choose the proper connection for a particular transmitter or application. Connectors are available for most popular transmitter brands as well as hardwired XLR and standard 3.5mm. For available connectors see the following link: http://bhpho.to/2aMB6xW

[0.01 lb] Got 4 of them for my lavalier microphones and fits perfectly over the wind screen. They seem secured with the elastic built inside of them.

[Tan/Beige] fits well, they actually have different colors on Bubblebee website, i just wanted them black, and delivered quickly. (Bubblebee is from Denmark if i'm not mistaken). Solid lav windjammers, can't go wrong. it was a bit of a hassle to get them in, but once you figure it out they're golden.

[0.01 lb] We are a pro film company based in Oklahoma where the wind is a constant 15 to 20 mph making it impossible to record audio with a lapel microphone. This mini wind screen makes it easy to record in very windy situations. I have 4 of these and use them daily with COS-11 microphones. I highly recommend these.

[0.01 lb] These are *much* better than any foam windscreen I've witnessed. I use it on an exterior deck of a ship while cruising through a bay, with wind noise that makes a normal foam windscreen useless. I would say this cut the wind noise by 90%. There is no comparison. I've got one for each of my headset mics, and will be getting spares.
The strings on the windscreen are just to help you place it over the mic element. The hole in the windscreen is elasticized.
*Looks* like most other furry windscreens: *sounds* totally different.
Highly recommended!
