Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this adapter compatible with the NiSi Athena PL mount primes given their protruding rear element?

A: As the Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter for ARRI PL-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera with Filters Kit can only work with PL lenses that have a rear element depth of 21mm or less, most of the NiSi ATHENA PRIME T2.4/1.9 Full-Frame 8-Lens MASTER Kit (ARRI PL) would not be compatible.

Q: 2. What is the filter size? Will it accept 2 inch astro filters?

A: The Meike Drop-In Filter Lens Adapter for EF/EF-S Lenses to Sony E-Mount Cameras is a proprietary holder with a custom size to fit the manufacturer's filters. Meike has created several options like neutral density filters, polarizers, and special effect filters, which can be found through this link: https://bhpho.to/3RzFO7N

Q: 3. Is this the same filter used in Canon 500mm? PL-C 52?

A: They may look similar but are different. This filter is designed only for for use with the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R for using Canon EF/EF-S Lens the EOS R Cameras

Q: 4. Would this adapter work with the locking mechanism of the RED Komodo X?

A: The Meike Drop-In Filter Lens Adapter for EF/EF-S Lenses to Canon R-Mount Cameras with Variable ND and UV Filters would also support the RED Komodo-X Cinema camera.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Blazar Remus f/2 45/65/100mm lenses?

A: The Meike Lens Mount Adapter with Drop-In Filter (Leica L to PL) has not been tested with the unreleased BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit.

Q: 6. Can I use this adapter with Tamron lenses with EF/EF-S mount for Canon EOS Rebel DSLR?

A: Technically yes, the Meike MK-EFTR-B Customized Control Ring Adapter for EF/EF-S Lens to EOS-R Cameras will work with a Tamron EF/-EF-S lens. Note, the manufacture does not list the specific lenses it works with,

Q: 7. Will any 52mm screw in filter work with the holder or is it a specific filter? Can't find just the filter for the Canon 600mm III...it comes with the holder but no filter.

A: While you can use other 52mm screw-in filters, Canon Drop-In Screw Filter Holder 52 (WIII) with Protector Filter B&H # CA52WIIIF not just any 52mm filter will do. The actual width of the filter is the deciding factor measurement, not the filter thread. Unfortunately, filter manufacturers do not list that number. The best hint we have is the fact the Canon protective filter is 54mm wide and about 5mm high. At this time, reports suggest that the B+W 52mm filters fit. Here is one. B+W 52mm MRC 103M ND 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) B&H # BW103MC52 Good luck.

Q: 8. Does this work with the canon ef-rf nd lens adapter?

A: Yes, according to Meike the Meike Drop-In Clear Filter for MK-EFTR-C EF to RF Mount Adapter is compatilbe with the Canon brand lens adapters.

Q: 9. Will this canon drop in CPL filter work in the Mieke drop in eos-rf adapter?

A: The Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter A is not compatible with the Meike EF to RF drop-in filter system.

Q: 10. Can you use any PL mount lenses with this adapter?

A: Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter for ARRI PL-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera with Filters Kit will work with most ARRI PL-Mount Lens. A full lens compatibility list is listed on this product page, you would just need to click the "COMPATIBILITY" tab and scroll down to see it. See: https://bhpho.to/3RQwFIg

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] I bought the 4 x 4 6-Point Star Filter by Cavision for some night video shots where I wanted to add a little extra to the scene. Star filters have been around for many years, but tend to get a little expensive in the 4X4 size. The Cavision however is very reasonably priced and excellent quality.

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] This drop-in VND adapter just makes old EF lens more
appealing than the native RF lens on Canon camera for video shooting. It adds build-in ND feature to the mirrorless cameras, making them feel more like an expensive cinema camera with built-in ND filters. Most importantly, the included VND filter has little color shift throughout the whole range, and the adapter does not reduce the auto focus performance. In my test on a sunny day, it does not negatively affect image quality, neither in color nor resolution. I did not notice any difference in auto focusing performance compared to the Canon adapter. The build quality is decent. The turning wheel has little resistance, which could be improved. But it feels accurate. I can set the exposure just by turning the VND, with aperture, time and ISO locked on camera. It is quite pleasant to use it on sunny days. Because of the convenience and no noticeable downside, I have no hesitation to keep it on my camera at all time, with the clear filter inside when the ND is not needed.

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] I did a lot of research as to what I should get adapter/lens wise for my R5c. This adapter turned out to be the perfect one! I can use great existing EF cinema lenses with my R5c, while also making up for the fact that the R5c has no internal ND with the drop in VND included with the adapter. I also love the PL mount style locking ring (I've never seen one like this in EF before!!), as it makes it quick and easy to swap lenses, and it ensures an absolutely solid connection. It can take some getting used to, particularly for those used to photography style mounts. But it's definitely a solidly built, high quality and very functional adapter. The VND filter apparently has better performance than the one in the Canon ef-rf filter adapter. And you can get a ton of third party options for more drop in filters!

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] It's a very well made adapter, It fits very tight. I did some testing with the plain Canon adapter vs the Meike clear/nd/and circular polarizers... Even zoomed way in on fine detail, I could see no difference in sharpness between the canon and the meike with any of the filters.. The variable ND and the circular polarizer have very little color cast, which I hear is a problem with the significantly more expensive Canon variant. Lens functions as it should on the canon body, AF, metering, etc.

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] Great option to have flexible rear filters (not just eND) on RED DSMC3/Komodo. Revised design also fits Atlas Orion lenses - this was fixed.

Pretty solid mount for the price and only one with Canon rear filter support for PL lenses as of now.

Just really wish it would support lens data /I /XD.

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] Note: B&H doesn't ever seem to keep this in stock so I actually got it from a place that is named after a river that rhymes with smammazon. ;-)

Great VND. Has way less color cast when stopping down than the Canon VND and seems to actually have good IR filtering as well. Stopping down with the Canon will leave your black shirts looking redish while the Meike leaves the shirts black.

Would recommend.

Using with RED Komodo.

[3.9 x 3.5 x 1"] OK
here’s the deal, I just received my adapter today it's their new release MK-EFTR-C adapter with variable ND. I must say I’m simply blown away by the quality and craftsmanship to think canons cost twice as much is Ridiculous️…and I’m a canon fanatic. I purchased one from Meike because it is weather protected and came with the clear filter also, so you don’t have to leave the ND in all the time. Outside of the camera itself, buying from Meike is the best photography purchase I’ve made, straight up. I would highly recommend the Meike MK-EFTR-C adapter to anyone that is looking to use EF/EF-S glass on their Canon R Cameras. Thanks Meike for making such a good quality product, and thank you B&H Photo for carrying them.
