The RDL RACK-UP 4x1 Remote Stereo Audio Switcherfrom RDL RACK-UP 4x1 Remote Stereo Audio Switcheris a four-channel stereo audio selector with input gain adjustment, output level metering, and an internal stereo VCA for setting the output level. Source selection and level adjustment are done remotely, from one or multiple locations. The unit is equipped with rear-panel terminals that provide flexible control options using a variety of optional remote controls from RDL or other brands. Each of the four stereo line-level inputs accepts either a balanced or an unbalanced signal and is equipped with a rear-panel screwdriver-adjustable input gain trimmer. A: YES, kramer sell a rack solution for this model, be aware that this solution is hard to find, i tried and never found a seller whit the product in stock.

A: The VS−4X is a high−performance switcher for balanced stereo audio signals on XLR connectors. It switches any one of four stereo signals to a single stereo output.

Q: 3. If the audio out is used does the HDMI out retain its audio or is audio completely stripped from the signal? Also does the audio in jack replace the HDMI audio, mix it in, or add extra channels?

A: The HDMI will still have the audio on the output. However if you use the audio jack in it will replace the HDMI audio, it will not mix the two.

A: The Inday DA4X-R SPDIF 4x1 Digital Audio Switcher does not feature the ability to combine or mix inputs to be sent out of the device together. Because they would be summed coming out of the single optical or coax output anyhow, perhaps summing the stereo signal before it feeds the DA4X-R would allow you to achieve your desired outcome. Also note that this unit is expecting a digital signal not often found directly on turntable output connections themselves.

A: From my experience you can not select but one input at a time. The product is outstanding, though. I am in to very high end audio and have high end audio components connected like Mark Levinson, Theta, Magnum Dynalab and notice no signal degrade.
