[1] Works great. Unlike what is described in an earlier review, the adapter automatically switch from battery to external power when a 12V power source is plugged into the 4-pin XLR. If the 4-pin XLR is disconnected, then the camera reverts automatically to battery power. There is no power interruption at all.

[0.605 lb] The Core SWX Battery Plate fits the Sony FX9 like a glove. Fits tight with no play and regulates the voltage from the battery to the proper requirements of the camera, and the power light is located on the proper, operator side allowing you to quickly notice when your battery is nearing its end of a charge by turning from green, to a flashing red.


This unit also fits with the camera factory battery attached allowing you to hot-swap to a new gold mount battery without having to shut down the camera operation. I bought the Camvate M4 9mm thumb screws to attach the plate to the camera. This allows a quick, tool-free means of removing the plate to access the camera oem battery.


The extended length of the plate combined with a gold mount battery helps to comfortably balance the camera on your shoulder when shooting hand-held.


The plate is also attached at a proper height to allow the camera with a gold mount battery to sit flat on the ground.


This is a high quality product that I can fully recommend.

[V-Mount] This is a well designed battery plate that does what it needs to do. The extra mounting points on the top are a nice touch. Adding two P-Tap outputs also gives the FX9 much needed functionality. The fit and finish is very solid and even with a heavy 160wH battery attached I get no wiggle at the mounting point. As noted by others the failure of the camera to read the voltage is a major disappointment but this is a Sony issue in my opinion and Core has done a great job with the 19v input situation given by Sony.

[V-Mount] There's no real question here, this is a must-have. I use V-mount batteries for my other Red, lights, random other gear so adding this V-mount to the KOMODO was necessary. I definitely didn't want to add a whole new battery system to my gear bag with all the other cables, chargers, etc I travel with. This thing pops on and off with ease and pairs well with Core SWX batteries. Highly recommend.

[0.605 lb] Small size, tool-less install. I think this is the best battery plate but be aware it wont be compatible with a lot of top plates!

[1] Fits nice and snug to the camera body and works great. The Sony option is too expensive for what it gives you.

[V-Mount] Bought this after reading a few reviews about the Anton Bauer one I was going to get because people had problems with the Anton. This works great, plugged it in and bolted it on. I use my Anton Bauer Dionic batteries on it which helps with rear weight on the FS7. The Sony rear attachment was too expensive for me at the time so this works nice if you want to use gold mount batteries.

[V-Mount] I've used this once so far on a commercial shoot and found it to be reliable and well made.


I Like the rigid mounting, something that's missing from the Wooden Camera model. I feel like this gives a better consistent feel when operating and held, and prevents shifting weight for Steadicam setups. It acts as an integral part of the camera.


I didn't have any issues with the power dropping out like the last reviewer because I had the FX9's included BP series battery installed. That allows for hot swaps and protects from batteries dropping out. Plus the Core Batteries and others usually have a power status that makes it too easy to monitor the remaining battery life. After three days of shooting the BP battery still had about 60% power.


And if your adventurous, you could easily have a machinist add a few Lemo/Brand-X power connectors on the side.

[V-Mount] Very easy to install. Simply to use. Added two D-tap outlets for using accessories.
