[Black] Using it to transport some DJ equipment (Denon DJ Prime 4). Works perfectly and quality is good. Highly recommended.

[42.5 lb] This case is a stronghold for your gear. I have 3 light stands, one which is a boom, an Explorer 600, AD200 3 speedlights, 2 umbrellas, 2 softboxes and it still can hold more gear. I havent traveled with it yet but I will in March. But so far so good.

[Latch] This is a very large case, built like a tank. I find the SKB cases on par with the Pelicans, maybe even better. The latches are very secure AND easy to open which is great. Unlike my large Pelican case, this one has a handle at the front (as well as both sides)... a big plus when you're carrying something heavy and desperate to grab on to something. Would be nice if they had other colors but otherwise no complaints!

[Latch] it's very hard to find a flight case for parabolic umbrellas and other longer gear. SKB kills it with this one! Fits the Parabolix55 perfectly. 7' Umbrella for Hudson Spider fits on a diagonal. I'll be buying a second one soon and phasing out fabric cases that get destroyed after 5 flights.

[Universal] I bought two of these for a mobile shotkit for my studio volume photography business. This case fits four Einsteins and stands with room for cords and small accessories.


I have owned a ton of Pelican cases, but liked this form factor and guessed right. Everything fit. It's tight to fit the Manfrotto stands inside but we made it work. The selling point was the Thinktank insert which worked out perfectly. We used the foam insert from the original Einstein boxes to secure the lights when traveling. The case looks like it was made for this function.

[Yes] I haven't had the best experience with SKB cases in the past but I have to say, this one did great. It survived TSA while weighing in at 65lbs with stands and blankets.

[Latch] Bought 4 of these to transport my church band’s equipment to retreat centers. Four of these fit perfectly inside my short-bed Ram pickup and still allow my hard bed cover to close. I used one to ship 99 lbs of equipment to do a gig in Seattle. It ships very well on the airplane as extra luggage (must pay extra due to size/weight, of course). Pretty easy to wheel around through the airport. Handles are very sturdy, and perfectly positioned to allow a tall guy like me to walk without catching my heels. Super sturdy, and a little lighter than other brands’ options. And they stack securely when storing. The nearly vertical walls allow maximum use of interior space. Overall, this box is a super design, and it’s VERY sturdy.

[42.5 lb] Great product. Easy to configure. SKB makes cases which are relatively light for hard cases. This is a perfect lighting case. Just be aware that because of the size, if you load this up, you're probably going to be over 50 lbs. Because it's wheeled, that's pretty manageable.
