A: The TTArtisans 23mm f/1.4 Lens would have a clicked aperture ring.

Q: 2. Do their lenses have electronic contacts for EXIF information (Fujifilm X-mount)?

A: The Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 Lens does not have electronic contacts, so it will not provide any EXIF data.

Q: 3. Does it have contacts for transmitting settings info?

A: The Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 Lens (Nikon Z, Black) is a manual-focus lens that does not have contacts to communicate with the camera.

Q: 4. Can you use this with a full frame Sony camera?

A: This lens will mount on a Sony's full frame Alpha bodies, but it will not cover the full sensor. Meaning you will lose resolution. This lens is meant for crop sensor cameras. Such as A6000s series.

Q: 7. Does this work with the Nikons focus confirmation?

A: No, the Thypoch Simera 35mm f/1.4 Lens (Nikon Z, Silver) will not confirm focus on the Nikon Z-mount cameras. There is no electronic communication between this lens and the camera. However, you will be able to use the manual focus assist operation, such as peaking, in the camera.

Q: 8. Does the Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 for Nikon Z support the manual focus assist features one the ZF?

A: Since the Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 for Nikon Z lacks communication pins, it does not support all manual focus assist features. The lens will still support things like Focus Peaking, but will not support focus confirmation.

Q: 9. can you take this out in the rain?

A: Unfortunately, TTArtisan has made no claims of weatherproofing in the 23mm f/1.4 lens, and we do not think exposing the lens to the rain is advisable.

Q: 10. Hello, I already have TT Artisan 50 mm f1.2 and 35 mm f2.0 lenses. Would I benefit from this 23 mm lens in some way?

A: Yes, the TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 Lens for Sony E would give you a slightly wider focal length compared to your 35mm f/2 lens and a much wider focal length than your 50mm f/1.2 lens.

[49 mm (Front)] After getting used to the somewhat-controversial ergonomics of this lens, I can say for sure that the image quality produced by this lens keeps me coming back to it. The balance between bokeh and sharpness is perfect, and it has that pop.

The only weakness of this lens (in my opinion) is the size and weight. It seems that 28/1.4 is not going to make for a small lens, unless compromises, and this is as good as it's going to get. But the only smaller lens with similarly enviable image quality is probably the Leica 28/2 Asph, which costs about 7x as much at the time of writing, and is just a different character of rendering altogether. I think the Thypoch 28/1.4 a no-brainer for M-mount users.

[Canon RF] I am a Retired Senior amateur photograph using an Olympus OMD EM 5 Mark III camera. I had recently purchased a TTArtisan 35mm 1.4 lens and was so impressed with it in performance, color, bokeh, sharpness that I had to try the 23mm as well. Both perform outstandingly well and are a joy to use. How lenses of this quality can be sold at such low prices is beyond my understanding but I am tickled that I can get such outstanding images with them.
Being both manual focus lenses, they offer the opportunity to slow down and take you time getting the image right. I use focus peaking and magnification to get fine tuned sharp images. I just finished doing Portraits for a Sit with Santa and set the 35mm at f2.5 and all turned out exceptional. You can get very close with this lens and the bokeh is very pleasing. A great buy for new photographers wanting to try out prime lenses and manual focus. Highly recommended !

[35mm] Lens provides fantastic handling, the images are sharp with amazing separation, and the close focus is great! For the price this thing is faultless.

[f/16] Mounted on my old Sony Nex-3N and it works in manual mode. Camera has good manual focus assist and first 10+ shots are in focus and sharp. Lens is solid with metal construction, focus ring is smooth, great price for F1.4 lens.

[Full-Frame] This lens is beautiful looking and has exquisite build quality. It has a metal hood can slide on cap that are nice touches for a low cost lens. The aperture ring is fluid and clicks nicely into place. The lock at infinity isn’t that helpful for me but may be for others. Optically this lens isn’t perfect like the Leica glass. However, the photos have a ton of feel and style to them that I prefer this one to my Zeiss and the Leica 28mm that I rented. The price is exceptional for what you get with the lens, too. Super happy with it. The only downside I see is that it’s a bit large for a 28mm, but it’s not really an issue for me, but I mention it anyway for those who value compact primes for street.

[Canon RF] I was on the fence on whether or not I wanted to keep my Leica M10 and it all came down to whether or not I was going to like this Thypoch 50mm f1.4. After using the lens, I decided to keep it all! Build quality is nice and it's not too heavy for being a full metal lens! Love that it comes with a nice lens hood, or just a circular metal cap if I choose not to use the hood. I've used the new leica summilux 50 1.4 and although great, I felt so much guilt for the price I paid! This lens is a fraction of the price and the quality IMO, is just as nice if not better!

[64°] For the price, just can’t beat it. Has a softer, filmic look to it.
