The ikan IK-RSR6 Hi-Hat Riser 6" for Filmmakingis an aluminum riser, designed to raise a 75mm ball tripod head approximately 6" above different mounting options. The IK-RSR6 enables mounting a tripod head with a 75mm half ball to a flat surface, allowing you to maintain the leveling capability of the half ball/bowl combination. This riser can be used as a hi-hat, mounted on compatible sliders with a 3/8"-16 mounting stud, and the three unthreaded holes enable using bolts or screws to mount the hi-hat to a variety of surfaces.

It features 4.625" of clearance between the bottom of the built-in leveling ball and the top of the base of the unit. This provides clearance for many of the longer tie-down knuckles in use with many popular 75mm video heads. This hi-hat riser features anodized aluminum construction which provides a balance between strength and weight, and it is well suited for use mounted on a board, slider, or jib.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this HH work with A Miller 100 mm head? The Manfrotto did not.

A: It definitely should -- We have tested this Miller head with it and it works: https://bhpho.to/2TEhiZc

Q: 2. Does this come included with a 100mm half ball leveler?

A: The item comes as shown in the photograph. The 100mm ball leveler would need to come from whatever tripod head you are using it with. It does come in a pretty cool bag as well as a set of extra screw on feet for different surfaces.

Q: 3. Will this fit Manfrotto 502HD?

A: Yes it will. B&H# MAMVH502A, which is the 75mm version of the 502HD, will work very well in this 75mm Hi-Hat.

Q: 4. What are the dimensions at the widest point? 4.7"?

A: Yes, this product is widest at 4.7 inches.

Q: 5. I have the Magnus REX VT-6000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head. What 75mm adapter would work with that fluid head?

A: The Benro 75mm Hi-Hat will not need an adapter to use the head on the Magnus REX VT-6000 2-Stage Video Tripod's fluid head.

Q: 6. When mounting to a slider, how much stability is lost by raising the head and camera 6"? Am I better off just buying a flat-base head?

A: The ikan IK-RSR6 Hi-Hat Riser (6") (B&H# IKIKRSR6) simply raises the point of connection between the slider and the camera by around six inches. First, it should be said that even when not using a hi-hat, most uses of a slider will nevertheless still use a head such as a typical tripod head that is around 2.5-3" (6.35-7.6cm) tall anyway. Yes, raising the head even higher will make the slider more top heavy. However, whether or not that is a problem will depend on many factors and will well be worth it to video shooters wanting to use a half ball to be able to take the shot at a particular angle. If the load capacity of the slider can handle the extra weight then it should still be sufficiently stable, especially when used flat.

Q: 7. Does it come with Benro 75mm Half Ball Adapter?

A: No, it does not. Here is the B&H listing for it. Please note availability for the item. Benro 75mm Half Ball Adapter B&H # BEBL75S.

Q: 8. Would this work with a Benro S8? I'm concerned about the length of the Benro's stem. Also, how can this Riser be connected to a tripod?

A: Hi Thomas. Sorry for the delayed response. I use this item to attach a Miller Compass 21 Fluid Head to a very tall Manfrotto 161 Tripod (3 meters in in height). It's enabled a number of difficult shots. I am not acquainted with the Benro products (as such) but I can confirm that this item has worked well for me in the way that I have described.

Q: 9. Hi, Does it be able work with the Sachtler FSB 8?

A: The Sachtler FSB 8 has a 75mm Ball, making it compatible with the Benro 75mm Hi-Hat.

Q: 10. Is there a board I can buy that will turn this into a hi-hat? It would need to have a 3/8ths stud in the middle

A: Ikan does not have a board option for their IK-RSR6 riser. Other solutions with a board are - Proaim Heavy-Duty Cinema Hi-Hat with Octagonal Board (75mm) BH #PRHTBWL7500

[5" / 12.7 cm] This riser / hihat will give you solid bang for the buck, with zero complexity and artistry of design that could be found in the Moma. I cannot attest to its longevity as I just purchased it, that being said the quality of the metal finish and the overall thickness of the tool is noteworthy so it looks built to last. I like the fact that you can use it not only as a hihat, but also as a riser for use on a slider. Very functional. When you compare it to other products in its class the price is less than half but the quality is at bare minimum equal. You get major value for your dollars here.

[1.2 lb / 0.5 kg] This good looking ikan riser works perfectly with our E-Image 75mm Bowl Attachment Knob (see photos). We have an E-Image head attached to it. Not sure of that model number of head but what a match made in heaven. We use Manfrotto heads and their attachment handles with our tripods. We've read that Manfrotto's long tightening handles are too long to fit inside this ikan riser. Manfrotto makes a shorter one. The E-Image adjustment knob is cupped and seats precisely on ikan's bowl bottom as if it was made for it. We have this ensemble attached to our Rhino slider and works exceptionally well. Hope this review helps you find the right components to rock your images.

[1.25 lb] This is one of those pieces of gear that once you get, you’ll use it on almost every shoot. The quality and strength of this little guy really instills confidence in using it, and makes getting ultra low shots more fun. Everyone on set will be fighting for what nickname to give it. I will definitely buy again from this brand.

[1.2 lb / 0.5 kg] I've owned a Benro BV8 tripod for several years and wanted to own a pair of 75mm Baby Legs. I've used a lot of other options, Sachtler and such. And I have to say these ones are superior.

The build quality is amazing, you can get the camera so low in comparison with other baby legs. They come with different feet options for dirt and uneven surfaces as well as a small
short Tie-Down thread to hold the tripod head. Since the one on the Bv8 is super long.

The only regret I have is maybe I should've bought the 100mm version for the future if a expand to bigger Tripod Heads.

[1.2 lb / 0.5 kg] I use this mainly for filming sports from press boxes. Because of the short spread, I'm able to get the camera out of the window so my view is unobstructed. I highly recommend the Benro Hi Hat if it's in your budget.

[1.2 lb / 0.5 kg] I'm about a few weeks in owning this, and I love it. Not one for buying brands that arnt top in my list, but benro definitely surprised me with the build quality and the ergonomics. Lots of value in this considering you'll be paying a hefty price for a good quality baby tripod/hi-hat contraption. It's sturdy and the feet have a rubber grip that makes me slap my mama. It's great for table top shooting or when you need stability on the floor.
