Whether you are a first time or seasoned builder, the EDGE TI MAX WIFI is designed to promote easy assembly and reduce the guesswork in your system. Tool-free M.2 installation uses magnetic support for the Screwless M.2 Shield Frozr and EZ M.2 Clip for easy storage support. You also get a pre-installed I/O shield, keep out zone, and XL PCIe clip which help with component installation while Flash BIOS button, clear CMOS, and EZ debug LEDs offer support for your software.

You get a variety of cooling enhancements designed to keep your components safe even under heavy loads. Extended and heavy-plated VRM heatsinks, M.2 Shield Frozr, direct-touch heat pipe, and 7W/mK thermal padding with additional choke protection all work together to keep the onboard hardware safe. Dedicated headers for CPU coolers, water-block coolers, and system fans assist with installation and ensuring your cooling solution runs perfectly to your adjustments when teamed with various integrated programs. BIOS settings offer comprehensive cooling performance options allowing you to make easy adjustments, manage fan profiles, auto-detect fans, and monitor temperatures with just one click.

Utilizing a 16 Phase mirrored power arrangement with 90A SPS, you experience enhanced digital power design that can handle large loads while optimizing efficiency, giving you enhanced performance ready to take on high-powered components. A six-layer 2oz thickened copper PCB design and IT-170 server-grade materials support high-bandwidth for faster transfer speeds.

An array of protections is built into the EDGE TI MAX WIFI including reinforced power connectors, stainless steel I/O panels, solidified grounding structure, OCP protection, and TVS technologies, all working together to prevent electrical damage.

MSI's Lightning Gen 5 PCIe bandwidth supports up to 128 GB/s data transfer speeds and sports a Steel Armor covering that offers a reinforced casing to help support heavy, large graphics cards. You also get enhanced storage speeds, USB-C speeds, and more.

Quad DDR5 RAM slots utilize XMP technology to boost the speed of your memory to greater levels, optimizing render and multitasking speeds. Memory Extension Mode optimizes memory parameters to achieve lower latency and higher performance.

Explore greater possibilities with various BIOS and software programs confined into a centralized application called MSI Center, giving you access to Mystic Light, True Color, User Scenario, Hardware Monitoring, Profile sharing, Fan Center, and System Diagnosis. Click BIOS 5 allows you to easily navigate the internal settings of your system with EZ-Mode and ADVANCED modes. Resizable Bar configures your system for greater GPU speeds. A free trial period for AIDA64 is also included.

Audio Boost 5 leverages high-performance ALC4080 codec and audio processor to deliver clear audio, accompanied high-quality audio capacitors, audio jacks with S/PDIF, an isolated signal, and De-POP protection.

Utilize RGB peripherals and strips with built-in colorization backed by A-RAINBOW V2, standard RGB colorization, and Ambient Link technology that synchronizes exterior systems like lighting panels.

[4x 288-Pin] This motherboard is very expensive, but it's like buying the top of the line in anything, it costs more.

Pros: I love all the USB options. I love the fancy NVMe slots (5)! I love the Wi-fi which is 6E (DLs 7MB/s more now with no upgrade to old N router.) 6 SATA ports is good. My system went from an I7 4770K to an I9 13900K (runs hot but nothing can help that I think). Love the Bluetooth for my wireless headphones.

Cons: The only problem I had putting it together was when I inserted the CPU it did not work right; my brother had to re-seat it and re-apply the heat goo and CPU fan (which I was loathe to do myself) but then it worked great! Flashed BIOS before re-seating of CPU trying to fix; good idea to flash with newest anyway. The 5.0 NVMe slot shares bandwidth with the video slot so if I go to a 5.0 device it will cut my video bandwidth in half. Not sure this is the MB's fault. But I hate sharing on MB slots.

System now:
*Intel I9 13900K (I7 4770K vs. I9 13900k = Passmark 7120 vs. 60065)
*MSI MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI
*CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 5600 (4x more upgrade)
*Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black, 120mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler
(Now I'd go with the dual towers and 140mm fans for the 13900K)
*Cooler Master HAF X case (for drive bays)
*Seagate FireCuda 530 M.2 2280 2TB PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe 1.4 3D TLC (boot drive) over the Samsung option for durability stats.
*PCIE 1X to 20 Ports SATA PCIe Controller Expansion Card (because LOL) and I have 2 DVD RW BDR drives and a bunch of SATA HDD drives.
*NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (old but I just spent a truckload on upgrades) Wishing for 3060 or 3070 in future.
*20TB WD HDD
*Several older HGST HDDs (love HGST!)
*Cooler Master 1000W Gold Silent Pro PSU (old but works)
Running Win10 x64 Pro

My hat is off to B&H for super-fast delivery and working well with me on other issues.

[LGA 1700] I was on the fence between this motherboard and a comparable one from Asus. Due to their less than stellar customer service as reported over the past year or so I went with this one. I am so glad that I did !! Very high quality and super easy to work with. I also really like MSI's bios much more than Asus

[ATX] I haven't run into any issues with this motherboard yet. Needed to install certain drivers during initial install but that was simple enough. Looks great with my all white build!

[Intel Z790] I like futurproof motherboard designs everytime I build a new PC which is not often. Six years after building my last gaming/productivity PC, I decided to go with MSI after looking at the competition closely. This 13th generation motherboard checked all the boxes and slightly beat the ASUS board in value (imho). DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 slot, Gen 5 M.2, and Intel Wi-Fi 6E did it for me! Love this thing!

[ATX] I have no regrets and happy with this board. Compatible w my noctua air cooler. Setup w i7 12700kf and ddr4 4400 ram. In hindsight the ram is overkill as I dont oc much and dont want to put another fan on the memory but hey I am happy with it. If you have a triple fan gpu the card will hang over the sata jacks so you need to have them set before you put the gpu in or have really tiny hands. I think most will not have so many sata so that wont matter.

[LGA 1700] I used to be an Asus only motherboard guy, but decided to go elsewhere after the problems reported with their recent boards. No troubles at all with this MSI board. It installed easily and works smoothly in my new build.
