[209 lb] We purchased this printer to replace an old iPF printer and it has been a great addition. Setup was very easy, installation of printer software was also quick, and it prints very high quality plans for our construction company. I would recommend this printer to anyone needing a large-format printer.

[±0.2%] Took a chance. Not marketed as a photo printer, but I’ve had 4 color printers in the last couple decades that did remarkably good photos, so figured this “5 color” printer should do at least as well. No disappointment. Getting dialed in, and the results are promising. May not match my Pro-100 or my Epson 1430, but is so close for most content it is of little consequence. This with old mystery roll paper I had from my HP that quit. The printer shipped missing the 3 inch adapters, so could not use the Canon paper ordered with the printer.
I have no complaints, especially given the highly competitive price point. It is no speed demon, but I can wait. It is much larger than my 24 inch HP DJ120NR. It was also nice to see this printer can handle sheet stock all the way up to 24 inches.
Another plus is much bigger and fewer ink tanks. Tired of the 8 or more tiny cartridges with horrific prices per ml in ink. Somehow when you run out it is always the color you don’t have in backup.

Getcha one and have some fun.

[Color] For me, the motivation was for a large (36), photographic printer that is cost effective. Doing this rather than using a print service enables quick results, but, it also allows me to easily produce any print aspect ratio for optimal composition.

Started search with epson t5170 but found it lacking 3 core ability. Found my way to canon tm-340 (at practically the same price point) and was impressed with the features, and of course, it was 3 core capable, although I wish they would have included the 3 core adapters with the printer. Had to purchase (what looks like) the same exact spindle that did include the 3 adapters.

Solid build. I like the platten vacuum paper hold for stability. I understand that the t5170 does not have a vacuum paper hold.

Print quality is very good for my requirements for photo enlargements at a reasonable cost. As the more expensive fine art models claim better shadows/black reproduction, you would pay for it with more than double the number of inks and a more than 2x price for the large format printer (44, no 36). Lifting the shadows in curves/levels and histo compression seems to be a good solution to address raw shadow under-performance and gamut reduction.

Software is extensive, although the GUI look and feel are dated. Documentation and support (ie, site resources) is very good. Paper specific printer profiles work fairly well out of the box, however, i started using Spyderprint to attempt better screen to print accuracy. It was partially successful. At the end of the day, making test patches is likely still needed to reduce waste for large prints.

As this printer is not constantly used, print head clogging can be an issue. Their device management console allows scheduling periodic calibration (once per week, per month) to keep the print head healthy.

[±0.2%] Just ask Paris Hilton from the early aughts. Yes, we love this printer. Holy moly it's huge though. Might need a skid loader to move it.

[±0.2%] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this printer many of times. Im into crafting. This helps me with my larger prints. I can make posters for occasions. Since I customize chip bags and other snacks I can put multiple on one paper. Even though the accessories to this printer is expensive especially the ink. It’s worth it. My brother also made a poster for his job he works for an after school program. This printer is a great investment.

[Inkjet] This printer is a dream come true. Prints high quality on thick watercolor paper. It is hard to tell the difference between the original and the printed copy.

[Print] I bought this printer 4 months ago for a design job and it did very well. I design films and we had a ton of period graphics that needed scanned and others that we built that needed printed. It did an amazing job and I am thrilled with the output.

[43 x 34 x 32"] The printer is very easy to setup, takes roll paper which is amazing. I use a lot of archival canvas and the prints look vibrant and detailed. I am so impressed. The flexibility of having 24 wide prints is exactly what I needed. It also cuts the paper which I love. Finally, the ink is easy to replace and it is economical and does not waste a lot of ink like other printers I have. It is also quite fast.

[Color] I am pretty with it so far. Two things I think both B&H and Canon can improve:
- B&H: Shipping took a bit of time, it's 12 days for me from the day I ordered until it landed at my door
- Canon: This unit uses the same print head as the TM-200, TA-20, TM-250, etc...so quality is pretty good. That said, this one has a very small ink cartridges (55ml x 5), not even the size of ink cartridges in the smaller pro-1000 (85ml x 12). I assume that I will need to change cartridges regularly and the ink cost per ml is almost double expensive than the same ink in the 130ml and 300ml cartridges of other printer with this same print head. Canon should make this printer ink upsizable, meaning that it can accept larger cartridges. There's an empty compartment on the left size that can be used for it.
