A: There is a clear plastic cover on the left side of the rain cover. I have a similar camcorder (HDR-FX7) and if I had used the LCD screen it would have been difficult to see it. The way the cover surrounds the eyepiece there is no chance of moisture getting to the body of the camcorder.
