The monitor features a 1920 x 1200 resolution LED LCD panel with 2000 cd/m² brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a rugged aluminum housing. DCI and UHD 4K signals are supported via HDMI only, while HD or SD signals can be input through 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs. There are also HDMI and 3G-SDI loop-through outputs to send the signal onto another monitor or equipment.

The VXF7 supports tally lights via its RJ45 connector, and it has three LEDs on the front and rear that display red, green, and yellow tally lights. It can be powered via the included AC adapter, via a D-Tap power source with the included D-Tap cable, or by using a separately available L-series battery via the plate on the rear of the monitor. There are four 1/4"-20 threads around the monitor, so you can mount it in a variety of configurations. A shoe adapter is included for mounting the monitor on top of your camera, rig, or cage that features a shoe mount.

The 3.5mm audio headphone output allows you to monitor the embedded audio from your HDMI or SDI video. The monitor also features numerous image monitoring tools such as 1.33x anamorphic de-squeeze, waveform, histogram, peaking, pixel zoom, guides, markers, audio metering, and many more. A sun hood is also included with the monitor to prevent glare when using the monitor outdoors.

A: If the open-gate signal can be output in a compatible resolution and frame rate, such as a max DCI 4K30, then the Viltrox 6" Touchscreen HDMI/SDI On-Camera Monitor would be able to display it. It would not be able to display the full 6K open-gate resolution.

A: We have been using the monitor in the studio and I am considering it for night football games as well. It is plenty bright for studio use but have not used it outside. The construction is quite light weight (and that may stop me from using it outside the studio) but the price point and image quality for my uses have been outstanding.

A: This monitor has a standard 1/4 -20 thread underneath it, which gives you some mounting options. You could us a product like the Oben TT-100 Table Top Tripod, B&H #OBTT100, as a stand. You could even attach the monitor to a light stand with a 1/4 -20 threaded top, such as B&H # IMLS8AI.

A: It works with blackmagic 4K production camera with the SDI output set to 1920 x 1080 (not 4K). At first all monitor functions worked EXCEPT focus peaking, but the camera has built in focus peaking so that did not matter. It still bothered me so I contacted Lilliput support and they suggested doing a factory re-set. It worked! The monitor has both SDI and HDMI inputs, so if, like me, you also have a DSLR, it's perfect (for the price)
