A: I have used this converter with a Nikon 200-500 zoom on a D3s and a D7200. On both cameras there seems to be essentially no image degradation. I suspect the limiting component will be the Tamron lens. I would have a little concern with the combination on a D810 unless the platform is very stable given the very high resolution and somewhat unforgiving nature of that camera.

A: AF-C will work. However, you must keep the subject centered or as close to the center of the frame as possible as that will be the only AF point functioning with the TC14III connected.

A: If you have the AF version of the lens and not the newer AF-S lens, it would not be compatible with this teleconverter. None of Nikons current teleconverters are compatible with their AF lenses. If you do have the AF-S version, theres no reason the teleconverter shouldnt mount to the lens. In this case, the teleconverter might be defective. A: It will mount , you will have AF limitation as you will lose a stop of light becomes F8 . Depending what camera you have you may or may not have AF

A: I use it with the D500 and with both the Nikon 200-500mm and the 80-400mm. It works great on both with only 1 f-stop loss and no noticeable loss in sharpness. The 200-500mm is a little bit sharper than the 80-400mm but is 1.5 lbs heaver so I use it on a tripod with a gimbal head.
