Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. There is a significant price difference between the black version of this arm ($123) and the silver version ($170). That is a big difference for a difference in color. Are the two versions the same in features? Is the silver version made of a higher grade metal?

A: Currently the price difference is not as broad as this. As to why there is a any difference in price, we would go with the explanation the chrome plating costs more. Also know that retail pricing is not linear. It is based on cost, supply and demand. Those factors are what determine price. A much cheaper price might reflect too much inventory and the product must be moved. A high price might reflect short supply and high demand as well as manufacturing cost.

Q: 2. The photo shows the arm with two heads but no heads come with the arm, what is the part number for the heads? Are the heads for attaching cameras have 1/4 20 threads screws?

A: This item has multiple mounts for camera/tripod heads. You can attach as many as 4 heads but it does not come with the heads. If you click on the following link, you will see all the compatible heads; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?sortType=default&Ns=p_OVER_ALL_RATE%7c1&ci=140&fct=fct_head-type_1544%7cball-heads%2bfct_head-type_1544%7cgeared-heads%2bfct_head-type_1544%7cpan-tilt-heads%2bfct_head-type_1544%7cpistol-grip-heads&srtclk=sort&N=4075788769&

Q: 3. How much weight can this hold?

A: The best products from BH

Q: 4. Hi, I would like to know the package weight. Tilta Shock-Absorbing Arm Regards

A: This product will come in a package that weighs 51.0 pounds.

Q: 5. Does it come with the two camera support platforms/clamps shown in the photo?

A: Yes the Manfrotto 131DDB Tripod Accessory Arm for Four Heads (Black) comes with the two camera supports on top and one on each side as shown in the photos.

Q: 6. Would this hold the weight of a 27 inch Imac?

A: No, Manfrotto 131DDB Tripod Accessory Arm for Four Heads (Black) is made to support the weigh of most cameras. It can work with a laptop. But the weight of a 27 inch iMac is to heavy.

Q: 7. Could this fit safely on a manfrotto befree (weight limit around 8lbs)? Or is there a safe weight limit?

A: The befree supports 17lbs, so it should be ok.

Q: 8. How far from the tripod mount can one of the top mounts be positioned?

A: From the center of the center mount to the center of the end mount it can be up to around 16 inches.

Q: 9. I have the SmallHD 701 lite, will this support the monitor?

A: This arm will support your monitor.. The only issue is that you will have to really tighten it. This arm tends to loosen randomly.

Q: 10. Does the shoe mount side unscrew further to reveal another male thread? (aka two male threaded sides?) I would use this to clamp to my Ronin-M but I would need one male thread to go into the clamp and another male end to go into the monitor. (If not, can anyone recommend one). -thanks!

A: Yes

[1" / 25 mm] This Articulating Arm is tight and firm. There is so much flexibility and it is solid.

[1" / 25 mm] I use this arm to hold an external monitor onto my camera rig and it is totally solid. The arm's little locating points and large ball joints see to that. (No more monitor spinning away at the most inopportune moment!)

I like to re-position the monitor for different shooting positions and this arm enables me to do that easily while maintaining a solid mount for the monitor.

Built well and priced right.

[3] This magic arm was purchased to replace a cheaper-made alternative arm that suffered from an inability to hold its position and securely mount an accessory to a camera.

The Smallrig articulated magic arm employs a pair of ball joints and a large T-handle.The ball joints allow for a much wider range of positioning than the typical magic arm. This is a much better design that affords much greater flexibility in positioning the accessory to be held with the arm.

The T-handle allows for the user to apply very positive leverage and clamp the arm down into position in a very secure manner. This ensures that the arm will not move and provides a very secure and stable mount for the accessory that the arm is holding.

The 1/4-20 mount points on the ends of the arms that the user threads into the camera and accessory use triangular spinner controls that provide the user with the ability to exert a great deal of leverage to secure the arm.

They are also drilled so that you can insert something like a hex wrench handle to increase the leverage exerted on the mount points for an even tighter, more secure attachment. This is an excellent, well-made product that I would buy again and would recommend to others in the market for such an accessory.

[NATO Rail Slot ] This arm is so great that I went back the next day and bought another one. It's incredibly stiff and I like that it doesn't seem to have any plastic or rubber parts in it.
