A: Although Dracast does not offer a tungsten output equivalent, the power draw is listed as 400 watts.

Q: 5. so there are no pop in gels or barndoors included correct?

A: That is correct. Q: 6. Is there a simple setup instructions for this? How do you build it and ensure that the rods stay taught to snugly fit the front diffuser?

A: Don't buy this. Zero instructions. And will not mount to the Pocket Cannon.

Q: 9. I see the barndoors for this, but not the gels made to fit. Aren't there gels mad to fit right into the barndoors?

A: I haven't come across gels specifically made for the Dracast Led500. B&H has a lot of gel packs, many are 12 by 12 which you can just cut in half and slide right into the barndoors. I went to a local photo store and bought gel sheets, very cheap, and just cut them to fit the frame. I also got an appropriate color gel to change the balance to tungsten.

Q: 10. Does this collapse flat? If so, will it fit in case that dracast provides with the 1500 series

A: Yes, this softbox does collapse flat and would fit in the same case as the LED 1500 panel.

[1.465 lb] We at EffinFunny have been using these lights for a year now, and they are sturdy, durable, easy to use, and you get a ton of flexibility with the bi-color. We had a couple issues with the power supplies that were promptly resolved by Aaron. They are very communicative at dra-cast and work to make sure that you get what you need quickly. They're just nice guys that want to do good work! Refreshing. 5

[Fabric] I'm both a professional photographer and cinematographer and I bought this originally for location video work. The output is incredible (My meter reads f-11 at 1/50 of a second at ASA 400 from 4' away.) The large source produces a much more pleasing light than smaller source led's just by the size and I was able to fake a chimera (strobe-based softbox) on it and it looked amazing.The dimming is accurate and flicker-free and the color is near perfect (certainly better than any other LED I have used) It only weights 10 pounds and while it's large, the quality of the light makes it worthwhile for me to take it on location. It's also powerful enough to use for still work, similar to how you would use a kino - but def requires some opal or tough spun to soften. Also their customer service is the best - No complaints! 5

[Fabric] I bought the previous version of this light from Dracast directly and had some issues with it. I called the company and after some more issues, I finally got to a person who was very helpful, ha made the situation right and even replaced the faulty unit with this version, which was very generous and great because this light is amazing. It's nearly impossible (and not worth the trouble) to run it off batteries, but it is such a large source, that it creates gorgeous, soft light with some spun in front of it. The micro-shadows are non-existent, the hardware is tough, and the led is far more accurate than guessing at some vague lines on a dial. 5

[Fabric] Many softboxes are not well made, and are falling all over the place, and need constant adjustment because the hardware is poorly designed. This baby's hardware was built with lots of thought, build like a rock, and diffuses light beautifully. 5

[Fabric] It's fun, the customization is easy, and like all dracast products, it feels like it'll work for a long time. We used it almost singlehandedly to shoot tights on a rave scene and it was spectacular. 5
