[100%] Now that I've been shooting with my Leica M9 and Leica M8.2 Digital Camera Bodies, I have developed an interest in trying film. This Leica MP, fits my needs and interests completely in this regard. My Leica MP, is very well constructed, and it's a camera I intend to use for the rest of my life. Another benefit to me is that I will develop and scan my own film at home; and, as a result, I am learning so much more and developing a greater appreciation for photography than I would have from use of my digital cameras alone. With such reasonable costs and high quality of today's scanners that are available for home use, and film processing kits such as the Tetenal, C-41 Press Kit (also, available from B&H Photo), just about anyone should be able to shoot/develop/scan their own film, and subsquently handle the images similarly as one would do with images from ones digital cameras.

[APS-C BSI CMOS] Leica MP is simply the best, there is no way around it. However, buying my first Leica with BHphoto is probably the best decision I’ve had. I had experience with Adorama but BHphoto customer service is far superior. No return return fees (Adorama does make you pay return fees), exchange/return convenience, and fast shipping. If you decide between the two, BHphoto would be the best option as it gives you a peace of mind knowing that they will take care their customer. I had an issue with the first order and had to exchanged it. I called them and explained the situation and they exchanged it with no questions asked. Simply the best customer service by far. It reminds me of REI customer service (if you live in PNW you’ll know what I’m talking about). They have a customer for life. Thank you, BHphoto!

[Leica M] I enjoy using all kinds of cameras for various types of photography, including Nikon SLRs I can praise endlessly. That being said, this is the pinnacle of simplicity and function. With this you just make pictures with ease and accuracy and mechanical perfection. You will want nothing more and get nothing less than what you need. A huge selection of lenses from leica to Voigtlander will give you anything you want at any price point but with the solid foundation of a camera body that just works. There is nothing like a brand new MP.

[Leica M] I purchased the Leica MP with a 35mm F/2 Summicron and use this for general walk-around/travel photography. I don't consider myself a street photographer, but I've been intrigued with rangefinder cameras for quite some time. Build quality is amazing. The camera feels like a solid block of metal. I would have preferred a match needle meter instead of the LED lights, but there's really not much to complain about. I'm a left-eye shooter, so things can get a little uncomfortable with the winder, but I'm used to that from my older cameras. Holding the camera properly takes some getting used to. I found myself covering the rangefinder mirror on the right side by accident on a few occassions. Also, I wish faster shutterspeeds were available, but I understand there are limitations due to the type of shutter used. Overall, the MP is a pleasure to use, and is quickly becoming my favorite camera.

[APS-C BSI CMOS] the concept is really very interesting and the quality is there. The device is constantly evolving. It's a purchase that I don't regret.

- The sensor and the quality of the pictures
- he colours of the pictures - very film like.
- The build
- The use of it. It is all about taking pictures with nothing to get in the way. No chimping, no messing with options, no missed focusing. Just put it to your eye, focus, shoot and move on to the next picture. Then I love the sitting with a coffee and looking through the day's shooting.


I have also had conversations with the Pixii team and to my surprise, the CEO has replied. They are very open to feedback and are eager to learn from users.

Can you imagine ever getting emails from the CEO of any other camera company?

This is the camera for you if you are interested in a brand new rangefinder that will only get better the longer you own it.

[Leica M] This is simply an outstanding film rangefinder camera, but let's be honest, most of the Leica film bodies are wonderful. The build quality is top notch. The MP viewfinder is improved over the M6 (classic) with less/no flare, smoother operation and quieter shutter. Overall such a joy to use.

[100%] I started with a black Nikon FM2, which is one of the best Nikon bodies in my opinion, and many years later bought an Leica M6. The M6 is already more than enough and I keep it. The MP has always been my dream camera. It goes beyond the M6 in its built materials. It's solid, a tank, extremily reliable. The kind of thing you'll pass to your son and he to his son. I prefer shooting with with rangefinder, that's why I moved to Leica. But these days I shot a roll with the FM2 and it was so frustating to my old memories. The camera is a lot made of plastic parts and looked fragile, loosen. The MP has everything locked in, tight, the M6 doesn't come close to that feeling. I'm not talking about the M3 because it doesn't suit me, since I shoot with 28mm and 35mm lenses. Thank you, Leica, for still making lifetime film cameras.

If you are thinking about MA get this and just take the battery out.

[DNG, JPEG] Discrete, small, intuitive, reliable, all without compromising image quality. Now, that's one heck of a camera. In the eyes of the public who have been trained (either consciously or subconsciously) to equate a 'serious camera' to a massive black bodies of the SLRs, this unassuming photographic machine goes unnoticed most of the times. Combined with near silent shutter, subjects often do not realize they are being photographed less than a meter away. This provides massive confidence in me to push my creativity without altering my surrounding with my presence. The smooth operation of the camera combined with significant heft, this camera feels almost magical in my hands and gives me that extra inspiration to stick around a little longer, try a little harder, and get out more often. Whether one intends to use this camera on the streets, traveling, photojournal assignments, or on family moments, I am confident that this camera will help one to create unique images that no SLRs can capture from simply being unobtrusive to both the surroundings and to the photographer himself.
