Q: 1. Greetings! Is this the .5 fine thread or the standard .75 thread? I wish to use on a Polaroid 180 and don't want to trash the threads. Thanks!

A: The Heliopan 46-49mm Step-Up Ring uses standard threads, and are excellent quality step-up rings with brass construction.

Q: 2. Does this fit onto Leica Elmarit-R lens with series VII filter thread?

A: Apparently there are two versions of this lens. Series VII retaining ring should be 54mm so this step ring should get you to a 55mm filter size.

Q: 3. What is the thread pitch of the 43mm threads?

A: The thread pitch is not listed for this adapter. However it will allow you to use 52mm Filters on a 43mm Lens.

Q: 4. I'm trying to mount 86mm coarse filters on a P6 45mm Hartblei Super Rotator. Is the 86mm side coarse threaded?

A: Unfortunately, the 86mm side is not shown as coarse threaded by the manufacturer.

Q: 5. I have a Nikon Z50 and wish to go from a Nikkor DX 16-50 3.5-6.3 to a Nikkor DX 50-250/4.5-6.3 would the Heliopan 700177 be compatable with the threads on the lens. In the future I'll be purchasing a better set of filters what is the thread type on this step up adapter?

A: You can use the Heliopan 46-62mm Step-Up Ring (#177) on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens (Black). With that you will than be able to use the same filters as the ones on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 6. Hi ... What is the difference between the Heliopan #143 62/77mm Step-Up Ring, and the Heliopan #144 62/77mm Step-Up Ring??? The descriptions do not say ... other than price, of course. ...Robert G.

A: The Heliopan ring, # 700-144 is a special model that can accept both 77mm threaded filters, as well as Series 8.5 type filters. Our product link for this model on our website is slowly being changed to reflect the new information we received about it since receiving your inquiry.

Q: 7. What is the pitch of the 86-95 step up ring? Does it match the Otus 85mm?

A: Sorry but unable to help. Don't know the Otus and don't know the pitch. All I can say is, that it's a quality ring.

Q: 8. Is some vignetting expected when using this step up ring at wider apertures? Can vignetting be reduced by stopping down?

A: One should not expect vignetting when using the Heliopan 49-62mm Step-Up Ring (#175). The 62mm filter will be significantly wider than the 49mm lens threading and should not get into the image at all.

Q: 9. Will this step up ring work with a Leica Noctilux 50mm 0.95 lens?

A: The Heliopan 60-77mm Step-Up Ring (#644) (B&H# HESUR6077) will fit the 60mm filter thread of the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH. Lens (Black) (B&H# LE50095NB). As such, you'll be able to add 77mm filters to that lens.

Q: 10. Hi, do you know if this lens will fit a Lomo 16-opf-12-1 Zoom 10-100mm? The thread seems to be around 75mm but I'm not sure.

A: Unfortuantely, we are not sure. It appears the LOMO 16OPF 12-1 Cine zoom lens 10-100/2.5 16mm lens is an older Russian lens that has since been discontinued. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any information listing the filter thread size for this lens.

[62 mm to 72 mm] Made from brass, won't bind to your lens. The only type of step-up ring I'll use! Not cheap, but won't cause problems in the field.

[0.085 lb] Yes, it is a little pricey but it is the best step-up ring ever been made!!!!! Strongly re commanded!!

[0.085 lb] It's made from good materials and well machined. I've used low end reducers before and ended up with them 'bonded' to the filters. This one is easy to mount and remove without tools, beating of colorful language. I got it to fit a 77mm polarizer to a smaller lens- it works perfectly. I should have ordered and extra 77mm lens cap for use while the polarizer is mounted.

[62 mm to 72 mm] This step-up ring is more expensive than others, but since it is brass, it won't bind and get stuck on my lens or filter. I use a Vari ND filter, and don't want to buy 2, so this is perfect for me.

[62 mm to 72 mm] This is a well made adaptor ring that works smooth, doesn't bind, and allows me to use expensive, but rarely use filters on more than one lens size.

[62 mm to 72 mm] I have been using the Heliopan step up rings for a long time, and they're very solid. I've never had them jam on me, and they're always easy to remove and change. I use these for all my filters that I remove and change from lens to lens, and they don't disappoint. I've had a lot of other rings I've used, but these are some of the ones that have really lasted for me long term

[62 mm to 72 mm] I have a lot of 52mm Nikon filters, and I use these when I want to use them with my rangefinder lenses. A lot of my rangefinder lenses use a mix of 40.5mm and 46mm filters, so instead of buying all the filters I need in these different sizes, I use one of these. These thread very smoothly. They're also some of the heavier step-up rings because they're brass. I'd rather have the brass though because when I used to use my aluminum rings in this way, they would sometimes get stuck. These never get stuck which is great

[0.085 lb] Although a bit pricey, you can be sure this step-up ring will not bind. It is also built like a tank.

[62 mm to 72 mm] Avoided reinvesting in new filter attachments when fitted the 7D with the 70-200 2.8L IS USM. The step-up ring brought the two lens together quite smoothly.

[0.085 lb] By using the 72-82 mm step-up ring, I can use my slim 82mm polarizer on my 24mm TS (tilt/shift) lens (72mm filter threads) and not get vignetting when the lens is shifter to its maximum. I've actually used shift and tilt together without image vignetting. This is a great set-up!
