[Mono] We were using the SM57 on floor toms, but it always lacked the low mid and lows without eq'ing the tar out of it. The D4 does exactly what we needed, great natural low end. Clear mids and highs.

[Mono] If you are looking for a versatile mic for instruments, specially for use in live sound, this is a great product, excellent U.S quality construction and smoother sound than others with the same applications.

[Cardioid] Micing the double bass can be tricky, but this has proven to be an inexpensive solution for getting a great live acoustic bass sound- everything I want to capture is there, without adding any additional qualities inherent in piezo pickup systems.

Punchy lows when you want it, without being uncontrollably boomy; inexpensive; lightweight and unobtrusive; rejects unwanted nearby sound sources; resists feedback; with the Audix inline XLR transformer, this dynamic works perfectly with any instrument amplifier.

[Black] The i5 is great on guitar cab and snare...The SM57 is warmer, but if you need a brighter tone... This is it!

[Phantom Power] The D-6 is such a good Mic for the Kick drum and is very easy to make sound good with very little Eqing. Hard to beat for the money

[Phantom Power] A great multi-purpose dynamic mic, I use this small-sized, big-sounding tool for instruments and vocals alike. It obviously excels on the snare drum and on guitar cabinets, but I like the sound I get from it on various percussion, brass and lower-toned woodwind instruments. It doesn't have the shrill high-end crispness of a condenser, but you don't always need that. Overall, it sounds clean and strong, and adeptly resists feedback.

[-10 dB] I have personally used the mic over the guitar amp and also to mic saxophones.

[Phantom Power] I have used the D6 on 3 shows with many more to come. It does just what it was designed to do. 6 to 8 inches away from the beater head in line with the beaters. It has made a great difference in our sound and has surprised a few sound guys who are fans of other mikes. I have no complaints. It is easy to use as you have very little adjustments on the mixing board
