Q: 1. Any chance to work with Red Pro Primes?

A: It should work with any PL lens, but I can say from personal experience that it works with my RED 50-150 zoom, RED 300 prime, and Sony PL primes, Zeiss PL zooms, and many others.

Q: 2. What is the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter made out of? Is it stainless steel/brass?

A: It is our opinion that yes, it is brass and stainless steel. This is the same type of construction that has been used for decades to adapt Arri B mount lenses to PL.

Q: 3. is this compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses?

A: The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter ARRI PL to Canon EF is not compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses.

Q: 4. Only CP2 / CP3 lenses are listed as compatible - are those the only lenses that can be mounted on this? Looking at mounting anamorphics - Cooke, Atlas, Xelmus. Will those work?

A: According to the manufacturer, the Metabones PL T CINE Speed Booster® adapters are designed exclusively for the Zeiss CP.2, CZ.2, and CP.3 lenses. They also state do not attempt to mount the lenses which are not listed under the Lens Comparability List to the adapter as physical damage may occur to the lens, the lens adapter, or both items.

Q: 5. Will this work on the GH5/GH6 with Meike S35 PL mount Cine Primes? And any idea on PL mount Greatjoy lenses?

A: Yes, The Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter will work with the Panasonic GH5 or GH6 cameras. Fotodiox does not have a tested lens list and it would work with lenses with a Arri style PL mount.

Q: 6. Does this adaptor work for PL prime lenses?The Fotodiox PL to EF does not.Does this cover full frame on the Sony A7S or just APS-C like the Metabones PL to E mount?

A: I've used this adapter with several PL mount lenses, they have all fit just fine (Cabrio 19-90, Cooke S4i, UltraPrime, Canon 17-120, and others). Be sure to properly support the lens since both the soft aluminum of the Fotodiox mount adapter as well as the E-Mount itself are prone to flexing.

Q: 7. Does this adapter work on the Sony a6300?

A: Based on manufacturer information we would give a qualified yes to your answer. While this combination has not been tested by B&H or reported, we see no roadblocks to this working as intended. Caveats: the lens mount contacts might short causing the camera to behave abnormally; be on the look out for that. Sony PL lenses, particularly the older ones, may not fit. Finally, this adapter works better with manual focus and aperture lenses.

Q: 8. Does this adapter work on the Sony A7SII with Sony PL Primes?

A: I have no idea but it works well on my Sony fs7

Q: 9. Does it works for a Sony FS 100 with Angenieux lenses?

A: NO!!! It does not fit

Q: 10. Does this adapter work well on the ARRI Red One Arriflex PL which I have mounted on a Helios camera?

A: Since your Helios lens uses a PL mount adapter, you will be able to use the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter Arri PL to Sony E Mount and attach it to cameras that use a Sony E mount.

[FUJIFILM X] I needed this to get full frame Clavius primes paired with a Metabones to get it down to a S35 gate / focal length. The Clavius back elements don’t extend hardly at all so they come close to touching the Metabones glass but don’t. Worked for me. 5

[Brass] I use this on a panasonic DMC G7 m 4/3 camera with some PL prime lenses. Mounts on both ends are sturdy and go on/come off easy. 5

[1.025 lb] I own (and love) my newer Blackmagic Design 6k camera with full frame sensor and Leica L mount. I also have a number of wonderful new and old Zeiss PL mount fixed cinema lenses. (18mm - 200mm) So when I saw this adapter for sale at B&H, along with a good review of it, I took the plunge. I am not disappointed. With this adapter, a fairly heavy Zeiss lens with ARRI PL mount, like their CP.2 25mm for example, hangs off the Blackmagic camera with no discernible wiggle. The lens goes on and off a bit tight, but hey, that's what I wanted. It looks great too, with excellent machining and black surface coating. Note that — nothing to do with this excellent adapter itself — my oldest 1970s vintage Zeiss Super-16 lenses, while still producing great images, do vignette at the image corners, from 9mm to 16mm when the Blackmagic camera is set to FF 6k, exactly as I expected. But I could not have verified that without this Simmod adapter. Note also that simply changing the Blackmagic camera setting to capture a more restrictive Super-35 4k size, allowed more of my older PL mount Super-16 lenses to be used. The lens coating on those older Zeiss is not quite as nice as the newer CP.2 or CP.3 but still hard to see much difference in most lighting conditions. Again, this Simmod adapter allowed me to test all this. 5

[1.025 lb] This adapter fits very snugly on a Zeiss 10-100 and Angenieux 12-120 and feels solid. Almost too snug, as it's a bit tricky to twist off, but I prefer that to having it loose in the mount. The twist lock is a nice feature, much preferable to the cheaper solutions that tighten with a small allen screw. 5

[FUJIFILM X] I've tried a few different PL mount adapters of varying prices from low to high. I can say with certainty that this is one of the best I've ever used. It has great machining, tight tolerances with no play when locked in. The lens feel supported and secure with the handful of lens sets I've tried. I have used other Simmod products in the past and have been happy so far with the quality of everything. I highly recommend giving this a try. 5

[Brass] I purchased this for mounting my Angenieux 12-120 2.1 HEC to a RED Monstro. The adapter is really high quality, just what I would expect for the price. The locking mechanism is very sturdy as well. The lens focuses great on the body and overall is a great item. I would definitely recommend this item to others. 5
