Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. My 3880 finally died. I often sent large files to it via wireless from Photo Shop. Any issues with wireless on this printer? Prefer to avoid a USB cable if possible.

A: As long as you have good Wi-Fi, no there won't be any problems using the Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer BH #EPSCP900SE wirelessly.

Q: 2. can i print remotely via internet,, will be away several weeks so want to keep nozzles clear?

A: This printer is listed as being compatible with Google Cloud Print but Google is no longer supporting that service as January 2021 so you would need to find an alternative. Another option would be to create VPN access to your home network which would allow you to print remotely.

Q: 3. Considering that P700 ink costs more than P900 ink, what is the "breakeven point" between the two printers. In other words, can you predict that if you expect to print more than X number of prints, you would actually save money by getting the P900?

A: I can't calculate the break even point for you, however the P900 is more quantity oriented and tuned, than the P700.

Q: 4. I will be doing a fresh installation to a new computer. Will I have to do a fresh installation for the printer?

A: You will want to install the driver from Epson's site on the product page for the p700 so you can use it on your new computer. You don't need to do anything new to the printer itself.

Q: 5. Since the P900 doesn't have a green cartridge, the profile shows it has a smaller green gamut than the P5000. How does foliage look?

A: The addition of Orange and Green UltraChrome HDX Ink is one of the many newer enhancements of the Epson SureColor P5000. While a new improvement, older models going back years including the P900 had excellent reputations for visual color accuracy.

Q: 6. Is the P700 twice as expensive to run as the P900? P700 25ml ink cartridges are nearly the same price as P900 50ml cartridges.

A: Almost! The same was with the P600 & P800 26ml for $32 vs' 80ml for $60. The cheaper the printer the more the ink.

Q: 7. How many ranges of the weight of the paper can acceptable by this printer?

Q: 10. What are the dimensions of the printer with all the trays closed and no roll feeder attached? The dimensioned photo is not to scale and shows everything unfolded/attached.

A: 20.3" wide x 7.3" tall x 14.5" deep. this is only when closed up. when in use the depth & height will be much bigger.
