A: The Sachtler aktiv8 will support up to 26lb payload weight. The Camera is 9lbs and the lens is 5lbs. You would still have room for more equipment. I think the Active8 would be fine. But the Aktiv10 would also support up to 26lb payloads however it has a more stable strong 100mm bowl fitting for the head. The Aktiv8 head would be amaller at 75mm.

[Aluminum] This tripod is extremely reliable as well as being quick to adjust. I feel safe mounting large rigs to this while being able to fine tune any mount in a matter of seconds 5

[Aluminum] Despite being offered as video tripod, it is an excellent choice for photography. My purchase was based on suggestion of pro-photographers, and I have paired with a Burzynski head for under 300mm and Sachtler fluid head for longer lens or for panning. Either combo is extremely solid. Some notable pros are: easier/faster to setup than twist locks, easy maintenance/cleaning due to not overlapping tube design, and double spike to firmly grip to the ground. All excellent and practical in real life situations. 5

[Removable] I needed a tripod that would support a variety of different camera and this is is. As with all Sachtler items it is very expensive. However, I will probably never have to buy another tripod again. 5

[2] I've owned 4 of these for almost 2 years now and have put them through some pretty strenuous shoots and have had no problems. I was super skeptical when making the decision to buy and have not regretted it. These are every bit the head and sticks Sachtler systems are at half the price (no offense Sachtler, I love you too). I have put full size broadcast cameras with 40x barrel lens rigs on them with no compromise in stability, smoothness and support. Same with larger (17) prompter systems. Comfortable spring settings, pan and tilt tension...easy leveling, stable arms, smooth plate slide adjustment, extra bolt storage, solid locks on the leg stages...I'm completely satisfied with them. 5

[2] I've owned these legs for a year now. They are lightweight, sturdy, and built with outstanding quality. I love the silver polished aluminum look as it stand out in a crowd. These legs SCREAM quality. You will have to buy an expensive spreader and feet for this, but trust me, the price is worth it. I've owned cheaper tripods and though they weren't as expensive, they quickly fell apart. Sachtler gear is meant to last a lifetime. 5
