The front threads on the filter allow users to stack filters by screwing them into other Simmod filters.

It takes two full turns to mount the filter onto the lens. This feature will securely hold the Simmod filter through the most demanding shoots.

Simmod can offer a 99.2% transmission rate by using highly polished Schott glass and advanced coatings.

Seven layers of nano coating on each side offer scratch resistance. With a combined 14 layers of nano coating, water beads will roll off your filter, while oil and fingerprints can be gently wiped off. Dust and debris won't adhere to the filter either and can be removed with a puff of air.

The filter is multicoated with 16 layers of coating on each side. That's a combined total of 32-layers of protective and enhancement coating. Multicoating reduces unwanted internal reflections and ghosting that can compromise your images.

The filter blocks UV light and reduces the bluish cast of daylight. This can affect color accuracy, especially at higher altitudes.

The properties of a brass filter ring minimize the chance of jamming or binding when screwing the filter onto the lens or stacking filters.

This filter is slim enough to use on wide-angle lenses without experiencing vignetting due to its 3.2mm size.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where is this lens manufactured?

A: China.

Q: 2. Is this a good lens for astrophotography on the z6 ?

A: For shooting the Milkyway or aurora borealis or star trails, yes.

Q: 3. Hi all! Is this lens is good for portrait and landscape ?

A: Normally I would consider a 35mm too short for portraits, but with a 1.5 crop (making it a 50mm on Sony NEX cameras) I think it is good. For landscapes, it could be great in some instances, but I think you will often find yourself getting plenty of exercise trying to frame your subject. It is my go-to around the house or museum day lens.

Q: 4. How is this lens? Has anyone actually purchased this lens or will I be the first? Let us know your thoughts. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A: Fix lenses typically have good optics.

Q: 5. Would this lens fit a Sony A200? If so, good results?

A: This not possible that I know of as this Lens is designed for E-mount cameras while A200 is an A-mount camera. So you will not be able mount the lens. Why not just buy the a-mount 35 mm f/1.8 lens, with the added benefit that it will cost you $200 less.

Q: 6. Is it an inner focusing lens?

A: Yes it is, and a very sharp one at that. I've used it for two years and I love it.

Q: 7. Can the lens MF/AF switch be used to lock the focus after AF acquisition by switching immediately to MF?

A: No, the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens would not locked focus by switching the AF/MF button if your subject is moving or you are panning the camera. If you switch to MF option the lens would stop focusing automatically and you would need to operate the focus ring manually.

Q: 8. Does this have coma in the corners when wide open at 1.8?

A: According to Camera Labs (https://www.cameralabs.com/nikon-z-20mm-f1-8-s-review) The Lens very good overall and reccomended, But does exhibit Longitudinal colour aberrations and magenta haloing.in the corners when shooting in Full Format DX. In APS=C mode performance is excellent.

Q: 9. Why do you say that the lense has a 52.5mm equivalent? This is a 35mm lense that is meant for an APS-C camera it is not a fullframe lense. If it was a full frame lense I would understand calling it a 52.5mm equivalent 1.5 X 35 = 52.5. But it's not a full frame lense so wouldn't it still function as a 35 mm lense on an APS-C sensor camera???

A: 52.5mm equivalent is common terminology to explain the effective field of view of a lens. It is not wrong!

Q: 10. Is this lens as sharp as the Lumix s 85mm f/1.8 is ? Does it resolves fine details as much as the Lumix s 85mm f/1.8 ?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens is very similar in optical quality compared to the Panasonic Lumix S 85mm f/1.8 Lens.

[0.155 lb] Nothing really exciting, but 1/2 the price of local shops in northeast Ohio.

[Brass] I primarily use the UV filter to protect my lenses from scratches & chipping (especially when I drop themI guess I'm a little clumsy). The UV filter was flat & stable, and easily threaded onto the lens. The polarizing filters are great as well, providing a good range between polarized & non-polarized usage. With both, I was not able to detect any degradation of clarity.

[0.155 lb] Tiffin makes very good filters and this inexpensive package provides front element protection (1A). In addition to basic sky and water glare removal the Polarizer can be used to eliminate most reflections when shooting through glass.

[Glass] For the price, and made in the USA, a nice combo. Always cover your lens with something otherwise it's pasta sauce and grubby fingerprints (not to mention if you smack a tree, rock or brush).

[Glass] I have used these filters before on different lens (58mm instead of the current 62mm)and they performed flawlessly. I would not hesitate to purchase them again if anything happened to them or I purchased another lens with a different filter size.

[62 mm] I just shot a wedding and the colors popped and the refection of the water on the pond was perfect (no glare) - I used on my Canon camera with the Tamron lens.
