The front threads on the filter allow users to stack filters by screwing them into other Simmod filters.

It takes two full turns to mount the filter onto the lens. This feature will securely hold the Simmod filter through the most demanding shoots.

Simmod can offer a 99.2% transmission rate by using highly polished Schott glass and advanced coatings.

Seven layers of nano coating on each side offer scratch resistance. With a combined 14 layers of nano coating, water beads will roll off your filter, while oil and fingerprints can be gently wiped off. Dust and debris won't adhere to the filter either and can be removed with a puff of air.

The filter is multicoated with 16 layers of coating on each side. That's a combined total of 32-layers of protective and enhancement coating. Multicoating reduces unwanted internal reflections and ghosting that can compromise your images.

The filter blocks UV light and reduces the bluish cast of daylight. This can affect color accuracy, especially at higher altitudes.

The properties of a brass filter ring minimize the chance of jamming or binding when screwing the filter onto the lens or stacking filters.

This filter is slim enough to use on wide-angle lenses without experiencing vignetting due to its 3.2mm size.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Sony SEL35F18 connect to the NEX6 or does an adapter need to be purchased?

A: The Sony 35mm 1.8 OSS will work for the NEX 6, without any need for an adapter.

Q: 2. what is the weight of the lens? Not the package weight, but the just the lens.

A: Excluding front/rear lens caps and the lens hood, the FUJIFILM XF 14mm f/2.8 R Lens weighs 8.29 oz (235g).

Q: 3. Will this Lumix S 50mm lens work on the GX7 and GH3 models?

A: This Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens is for Panasonic and Leica cameras which use the L-mount. An alternative to work with Micro 4/3 series cameras like the Panasonic GH3 and GX7 is the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH. Lens, BH # PA2517. https://bhpho.to/3P6IS9M

Q: 4. Does the lens come with a lens hood?

A: Yes, this lens comes with a hood.

Q: 5. Have any of you tested this Z 20 mm prime (or the Z 24 mm 1.8) to the 20 mm on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens, particularly for astro images? I'm a big fan of the old Ai-S 20 mm and 24 mm lenses and am wondering if the 20 mm and 24 mm focal distances on the zoom are as good, or nearly as good as the new Z primes of the same focal lengths. I'm debating between the primes and the zoom. Thanks for your time, Andy

A: We have not tested the lenses side by side for optical performance but based on customer feedback so far, more people are using the 20mm f1.8 for astrophotography than the 14-24mm.

Q: 6. Would this lens fit a Sony A200? If so, good results?

A: This not possible that I know of as this Lens is designed for E-mount cameras while A200 is an A-mount camera. So you will not be able mount the lens. Why not just buy the a-mount 35 mm f/1.8 lens, with the added benefit that it will cost you $200 less.

Q: 7. Can the lens MF/AF switch be used to lock the focus after AF acquisition by switching immediately to MF?

A: No, the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens would not locked focus by switching the AF/MF button if your subject is moving or you are panning the camera. If you switch to MF option the lens would stop focusing automatically and you would need to operate the focus ring manually.

Q: 8. which lens would you recommend fungi 14mm or XF 10-24mm?

A: Wow, I could bore you with what I shoot and why; indicating that I am either a photographer or an idiot with money. I Shoot the prime. I shoot only primes with only one exception and this is not it. PhaseOne/IQ260, Arca Swiss, Fuji...it doesn't matter. if you want the best from a lens...you by prime. HOWEVER: if your purpose says you MUST have this range for some unknown reason and you cannot live without that range AND your budget says NO to primes...then, of course, you shoot the 10-24.

Q: 9. how does this compare to the new sigma 30mm 1.4?

A: This depends on the camera you plan to use; however, the new lines of Sigma lenses are noted for their sharpness and image quality. You will also have a slightly faster lens with a f/1.4 aperture.

Q: 10. Is the lens body metal or plastic?

A: Hi Dennis, This lens is made of light-weight metal. -Anthony

[Glass] Keep on your expensive lens all the time for great protection and UV filtration. Cleans easily .

[Multi Coated] Two of the most useful filters that any photographer should have, a UV for every lens and a Circular Polarizing Filter for every size. The UV filter is obvious, protecting the front element of your much more expensive lens, but the Circular Polarizer is the go to filter for many photography situations. Buying both at the same time, as with this Twin Pack, is convient when you purchase a lens that has a filter size that you don't already own.

[5.6 x 4 x 0.8"] The Hoya is a nice addition to my new glass 50mm 1.8 Nikkor. No change in portrait photos and haven't done to many landscape photos to say if I notice any change. It's a strong filter that will protect your costly lens. I just leave mine on 24/7.

[0.14 lb] Seeing I have a whole set of Great nieces and nephews who seem to love smearing lenses or swinging what is ever in their hand this is cheaper than replacing a lens.
