A: The Sennheiser MKH-416 require phantom power which your camera will not provide. In order to connect to a Canon 7D you will require an additional adapter box that will provide power to the mic as well as offer level control such as the Beachtek DXA-SLR Ultra. You may also wish to record to an portable digital recorder which will offer a higher quality recording than the camera can provide. In this case audio and video would then need to be combined via software.

[0.4 lb] I use these with my MKH8050 pair for interviews. While I use these for interior interview work, there is still always potential wind sources from HVAC systems. Also, when swinging a boom pole in scene, there is a great chance for wind noise to affect the mic while the boom pole is in motion. The MZW-8000 effectively eliminates those issues. I do find I need to add a small dab of Joe’s Sticky Stuff on the barrel of the mic to ensure the wind screen never slips off the barrel of the mic… in theory, the diameter opening of the foam wind screen could be minutely smaller to form a more tight fit on the chassis of the mic. 5

[Gray] As with all things Genelec, this is a great product but would be even better if it weren't so expensive. Still, it is a very heavy-duty stand with extremely nice features. Not sure about the previous review, but adjustments are simple: The lower knob allows vertical adjustment, and the upper knob allows tilt adjustment. The post is hollow, allowing cable management. The stand is very solid, the adjustments are very precise, and the connection to the speaker is robust. 5

[Gray] Looks like I took the last set (sorry folks!). While these stands are re-branded under Genelec, they are the same as the K&M 26740 without the plate. Therefore, quality is assured and the expense is worth it. As the 26740 is a recommended 'fixing' for my Focal CMS 40's, these stands fit perfectly, and will fit any speaker with a 3/8 mounting thread. It was nice to get my speakers of my studio desk, and these stands are rock solid with good isolation. Please note that these are MUCH heftier than the pic seems to illustrate as these might look like a mic stand at first glance. You will certainly need the heft, as anyone who owns even the smallest Focals or Genelecs can attest to how heavy they are. B&H delivers on its promise - I received these within 48 hours of purchase as indicated at my destination. Stellar service and assistance. 5

[Gray] This stand is really solid and stable. Base is 17.7 inches in diameter, but it holds the right Genelec 8030C speaker very securely, together with the rubber vibration damping base. I am using this with the left speaker on a Genelec table stand, which is shorter but extremely sturdy as well. The floor stand has a good clamp for height adjustment and an auxiliary hook for height security. Thank you. 5
