Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to use AF by ef lanses?

A: While the AF functionality for lenses has not been conclusively tested, this does support AF for EF and EF-S lenses.

Q: 2. Is their a clear insert fir when an ND is bit needed ?

A: The Commlite EF/EF-S to RF mount adapter does not come with a clear-insert filter, and unfortunately it seems we do not carry one that might be purchased separately. We also attempted to slot the Canon OEM clear filter (as well as their CPL and ND filter holders) and they did not fit.

Q: 3. How many stops is the VND filter rated for?

A: It is 1.5 to 9 stops.

Q: 4. Will this cap fit on my Leica D-lux 5 (423-092.001-018)?

A: Unfortunately, this cap is not compatible with the D-Lux 5. However, the lens cap 423-092.001-018 can be obtained through Leica directly.

Q: 5. Can the auto lenscap MFR#18548 for D-Lux (typ 109) also be used on a D Lux 5?

A: No these are different. Look on ebay for an aftermarket cap for the 5.

Q: 6. Please note that this lens hood DOES also work with the fairly new Nikon 120-300mm f/2.8 lens. (This Q&A section requires a ?)

A: Under the Compatibility tab on our website, both the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR Lens and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR Lens are listed as compatible for use with the Nikon HK-41 Slip-On Lens Hood.

Q: 7. What are the dimensions of this lens hood?

A: The dimensions of the Nikon HK-41 Slip-On Lens Hood are 5.72 x 5.72 x 4.64".

Q: 8. Will this cap fit the D-lux 6 ?

A: NO.

Q: 9. What protective filter is thin enough to be left on Leica's 109 lens when using the auto cap?

A: The COKIN Pure Harmony 43mm UV filter is an ultra thin filter. It is the thinnest one made and the ONLY one that works perfectly with the auto lens cap. The leaflets close fully on top of the filter. The only problem is that this filter is hard to find as I believe COKIN has stopped making it in the 43 mm size.

Q: 10. Is this weather sealed like the Canon adapter?

A: Unfortunately Commlite AF Mount Adapter with Variable ND for EF/EF-S Lens to EOS RF-Mount Camera is not weather sealed.

[0.085 lb] Those variable ND filters are PERFECT. I love the fact that is does not have infinity rolling, so you actually know when you're at the minimum or maximum filter value. Just like a regular iris. Way better than the others brands, where there's no physical limit so you can turn it all the way to the max, and suddenly switch to the minimum value...

[Black] Do I really need this ? Absolutely, no! But I love Simmod. I love modding my own lenses. And this mat helps keeping everything organized. I'm happy with this mat. You can tell the quality the moment you hold it. Next, Simmod LPL to L mount adapter.

[Black] If you understand how this filter works and use it properly you will get excellent results. At first I was wary because of some of the negative reviews along with the price, however both points I have proved wrong. First you don't have to spend hundreds to get a good filter, second some people have no business writing reviews. Yes the dreaded X effect it is easy to achieve especially at wide focal range but it is also rather easy to eliminate, If you have the flexibility. Note all these filters have this limitation since they are basically just two polarizing filters. I found no distortions or color problems out of the ordinary and have easily gotten all the results we buy these types of filter for. With this 95mm size using step-down rings I can use this on three of my lenses. I have noted some have mentioned not being able to use lens hoods, not sure how hoods would be used conveniently with a rotating filter to begin with. And the only time I use a lens cap is when I am done for the day. The filter feels solid and well made and the ring moves nice and smooth with no loose play, the filter also comes with a really rugged hard shell case and a lifetime warranty. I have a number of filters some Bower, Hoya and B+W that were way pricey but the 95mm B+W Variable ND is just way over priced IMHO So in the end glad I went with this it has proven I don't need to overpay to get good results
