Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How may pins on the camera end?

A: The camera end has the correct connections for the Red Komodo. There is no info listed beyond that as this cable only works with the Red Komodo.

Q: 2. Is this a 3-pin fischer or a 9-pin LEMO?

A: One end is 7-pin for connecting to one of the Tilta Nucleus-M motors, and the other end is the 9-Pin LEMO to plug in the EXT port on the Komodo.

Q: 3. How do you charge them?

A: You can charge the RED DIGITAL CINEMA REDVOLT BP for KOMODO 6K S35 with any charger capable of charging a Canon BP type battery. We recommend this one. Dolgin Engineering TC200 Two-Position Simultaneous Battery Charger for Canon BP-900 Series BH #DOTC200C • MFR #TC200-CAN

Q: 4. There are two posts with different answers from B&H. In Feb 2021 Geetika writes "You can purchase the Wooden Camera B-Box for the RED Komodo and there is a R/S port on the box. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1572815-REG/wooden_camera_280500_b_box_red_komodo.html" implying it's a 3 pin connector. But in March 2022 Gracem writes "One end is 7-pin for connecting to one of the Tilta Nucleus-M motors, and the other end is the 9-Pin LEMO to plug in the EXT port on the Komodo.". So it 3 or 9 pin? Can you please give us a definitive answer?

A: The Tilta Nucleus-M Run/Stop Cable for RED KOMODO (27") is designed to connect to to connect directly from a Tilta Nucleus M controller and not through the B-Box.

Q: 5. Is a USB-c to lightning cable included?

A: The USB-C to lightning cable is not included in this kit. This comes with no cables, this is just the adapter hardware for mounting on the camera allowing you to connect via a USB-C port to additional components such as a smartphone or a camera controller.

Q: 6. I'm so confused by this, because the RED Komodo doesn't have an R/S port. So how does this "plugs into the R/S port of the camera" if the camera doesn't have an R/S port? The Komodo has an EXT port that can breakout to various ports. So does this cable plug into that EXT port on the camera? Or what? Very confused by this.

A: You can purchase the Wooden Camera B-Box for the RED Komodo and there is a R/S port on the box. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1572815-REG/wooden_camera_280500_b_box_red_komodo.html

Q: 7. By using the USB C port on the Link Adapter, can we save the recording directly to a GNARBOX 2.0 SSD (Red approved device)?

A: No you can not.

Q: 8. I think the confusion in all these questions, which is still not answered is.... does this cable just go into the EXT port at the back of the KOMODO... is that the "R/S" port. Can the Tilta representative please answer this? And does it matter which port it comes into on the motor? 1, 2? no matter? (Just bought this cable)

A: The R/S function is shared within the EXT port. Any reference to the RED KOMODO's R/S port is going to point to the EXT port. The Tilta Nucleus-M Run/Stop Cable for RED KOMODO uses the EXT port on the RED KOMODO.

Q: 9. Will I still be able to control the SmallHD Indie 7 4-pin control port?

A: yes it will

Q: 10. How long can I record with one battery?

A: Roughly 2 hours.

[Aluminum, Glass] OK if you are not sure if you will use it don't buy it. But if you have a full spectrum camera, this is one of your filters in your IR, UV filter set. Color IR is not for every one but it can be a blast if you find a way to understand what this filter can do for you.

[Aluminum, Glass] I use a wide range of lenses, from cheap primes to large zooms, and my filter sizes vary across the range. With these clip-in filters, I can attach ND filters and shoot video with both RF and adapted EF lenses with no issues.

This 3 stop ND was perfect for shooting a music video outside in sunny Los Angeles, and the 1/8 Mist had just a hint of glow to highlights without killing the contrast.

I own all three 1/8 mist (0-stop, 3-stop, and 6-stop), and I have one in my camera at all times. Looking to try the 1/4 mist at some point to compare.

[Aluminum, Glass] It is a filter with the appropriate settings for use in both photos and videos, especially when the sunlight is not strong or the day is cloudy. Additionally, its internal use makes it convenient by eliminating the need to recalibrate a gimbal when removing or attaching it. It has a minimal impact on the white balance, which is very easy to correct. Highly convenient as with just one filter, I can use an infinite variety of lenses.

[Aluminum, Glass] I'm not sure how long rear filters have been around, but this is absolutly groundbreaking for astrophotography, as well as other purpose filters ie: Polarizer, Neutral Density, B&W, etc. So much easier, and cheaper, than purchasing numerous front filters and the smudges and dust they attract, not to mention the space those velcro filter holders take up in your gear bag. I'd rather have room for another lens (or two). Simply cover your lens with a UV/protection filter. Lastly, these rear filters are simple and easy to change out. I'll personally just use one camera for astrophotography and will buy a rear Polarizer filter for one of my other cameras for daylight shooting.

[Aluminum, Glass] I really like everything except I needed to order a larger size to fit a circular polaizer.

[Aluminum, Glass] I have only tested this filter on my Lifepixel-modified Canon R6 (v1), but I like it already. It produces some really interesting color combinations that my other Lifepixel IR filters do not. Samples below are with custom white balance in-camera.

[Aluminum, Glass] Shoot aerochrome with you converted full spectrum digital camera. Works like a charm, just set your white balance and trees turn red but keeps the sky blue. No need to sit in front of your computer to swap channels.
Ensure that your lenses do not create hotspots. Some lenses can create spots in the centre of images.
