The 2-stop Kolari Vision R Drop-In Soft-Graduated ND Filter EF-EOS Rfeatures the outstanding optics that you can expect from Kolari Vision filters. Providing a soft-grad ND, you can rotate the grad line to create a natural transition consistent with the shot you are lining up without having to rotate a matte box, as you would with a filter mounted in front of the lens. With a ring machined from solid aluminum, it fits precisely into Canon's EF to EOS R lens adapter (as well as Kolari's own adapter). The filter is coated with AR/AS coatings for increased transmission, reduced reflections, and easy cleaning. Kolari filters are thickness matched for consistent focus settings as you switch filters (except for IRChrome and UV Bandpass).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Once the polarizer or ND filter is removed do you have to put a clear filter in it's place is okay without a filter?

A: Yes, once you remove the polarizer or ND filter, you have to put a clear filter (BH #CADICFA • MFR #3444C001) in it's place.

Q: 2. Does this help with lens flare on the Canon TSE 17mm? When I used my 17mm TSE on my 5DMkIII I rarely had lens flare. Now I have REALLY bad flare when using my 17mm TSE with my Vello adaptor on my R6.

A: The polarizing filter is to reduce glare/reflections. And to darken the color blue in things like the sky and water. It will not work to reduce actual lens flair. If the lens works fine on an EF mount camera, it could be that the adapter is causing it with that wide a lens and type of lens. The only other option would be to get the Canon brand adapter and see if that solves it. Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R BH #CAMAEFRF • MFR #2971C002 https://bhpho.to/3t6JznM

Q: 3. Can you buy a drop in ND filter in addition to the polarized filter with buying a separate adapter?

A: Yes, you can purchase an nd filter separately but they are pricey, click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1434113-REG/canon_3446c001_drop_in_variable_nd_filter.html/accessories

Q: 4. Will this work with canon eos R5

A: Yes it will. It is designed to work with all the Canon R series cameras.

Q: 5. Will this work with the RP

A: Yes it will. This will work with the Canon EOS RP as well.

Q: 6. Is the adapter compatible with 3rd party 52mm screw-on filters?

A: Unfortunately it is not. This adapter is only compatible with the specific Drop-In Filters from Canon for it.

Q: 7. The directions for the adapter say it has to be removed from the camera before I can change lenses. Why? It seems that it would be easier to leave the adapter on the camera and just change the lens attached to the adapter.

A: We recommend always following manufacturer's instructions, even when their reasoning might not be clear.

Q: 8. Will this work with full frame cameras, specifically red v raptor?

A: The Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Circular Polarizer Filter is designed for Canon RF cameras with a full-frame (36x24mm) sensor. The sensor of the Red V-Raptor is 40.96x21mm, so it may not fully cover the sensor when shooting 8K.

Q: 9. Can you rotate the filter when in place for optimum polarization? Is that what the small wheel is for?

A: The small dial can change the polarization amount.

Q: 10. Can this adapter be used with the Canon TSE 17mm??

A: Yes, the adapter is compatible with the Canon 17mm TSE lens.

[Glass] I have been using a cheaper filter set and now I see the difference between cheap and quality.

I always had a color cast with the cheaper set and I don’t see that issue with this set.

[Dedicated] I use these filters constantly. They are great. No vignetting on my 20mm or my 16-35mm lens. They fit snugly into the holder. Pricey but really useful.

[Glass] Works well.
Would be great if there was some other strength (8-stop, 10-stop, 2-stop, etc.)

[Glass] This filter system from Lee is easy to use and helps me capture the landscape photos just the way I want them. The gradual filter allows a little more flexibility versus a hard line filter. The filters are light, and fit easily but snuggly into the holder. While I have only had them for a few weeks, I'm hoping that they can hold up over time.

[Dedicated] Picked this up for use on my Canon R5C and I'm very impressed with the overall build quality. This is my first product by Kolari, but they have been on my radar for years with the Infrared conversions and magnetic filters they make. Happy to say this adapter and drop-in filters are very well built. The auto-focus features and communication with lens to camera has so far been perfect with my Sigma EF lenses, so I'm very pleased with that. The filters themselves are super clean and do not appear to have any color shifts or aberrations. And best of all, the control wheel for the VND is actually the right amount of resistance! Doesn't budge if you bump it (like the Canon brand one), but smoothly spins when you need to adjust it. At this price point, I'd recommend this kit over the Canon OEM alternative all day.

[Glass] This is a reasonably priced filer that works well without hurting image quality.

[Dedicated] This is a big, heavy, tough filter. I think this will be the last ND filter I will ever buy. Kinda surprised how thick 4mm is. Wouldn't shock me if it was bullet proof. Glad I went with the glass filter, I had plastic filters ,they are cheap, but scratches too easily.

[Glass] I take a lot of landscape pictures. Lately I have been taking ocean view pictures in the evening and had big contrast issues - bright sky and dark foreground. I had the camera checked out and everything was to spec. HDR mode and Software couldn't correct the problem so I tried the Tiffen Graduated ND filter which solved the problem perfectly. Pictures are much better balanced.

[Glass] Just what I’ve been looking for, now I can control shadows and shoot at high noon.
Definitely a cherished part of my tool kit.
