The Rycote Windshield Kit for Sony PCM-D100 Recorderfrom Rycote Windshield Kit for Sony PCM-D100 Recorderis a compact and versatile suspension mount for portable audio recorders. It uses patented Lyres to provide excellent isolation from vibrations, shocks, and handling noise. The Lyres are also unaffected by extreme temperatures, allowing it to be used in harsh environments.

The suspension has a 1/4"-20 threaded screw, allowing you to attach any recorder with a 1/4"-20 threaded socket. The suspension has a 1/4"-20 threaded socket, plus a 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 swivel adapter. The adapter provides 180° precise positioning of the recorder, and also allows you to mount the suspension on a 3/8"-16 male thread, mic stand, boompole, or camera shoe.

A: Be forewarned; you can only record HiRes audio to the internal memory. As soon as you switch to the micro SC card, you can only record at 44.

Q: 3. Does Bluetooth also work while recording? I mean if I'm recording music, and want to listen to Bluetooth headphones while recording, will it work? Or the intention only after the sound file is closed?

A: No, the Bluetooth feature cannot be used while recording. It is only available for use during playback to connect wireless headphones or speakers. When recording, it is always best to use wired headphones since there can be some latency with Bluetooth.

Q: 4. Is it allowed live monitoring thru bluetooth headphone connection?

A: No, live monitoring can not be done via Bluetooth, only playback. The recording audio is output to the headphone jack, so you would need a wired connection to monitor.

Q: 5. what size windjammer does this need?

A: If you are referring to the Sennheiser AMBEO inside the Rycote Stereo Cyclone Ambisonic 1 Windshield System. The only other wind protection for that mic would be a Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield. That would be B&H part number BH #RYBBG25 on our website.

Q: 6. Does The Shockmount for the D50 fit on the D100?

A: Due to the additional weight of the PCM-D100, it needs a heavier duty shock mount. A: Yes it is possible to purchase just the Lyre shock mount. You will find it on the B and H website with this part number B&H # RY41119.

A: The Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 11 Windshield System for Sennheiser MKH 416 and MKH 30 is considered a Made For Specific Microphone Series. The Sennheiser MKH 8060 is a Short Shotgun Microphone that would require a lyre suitable for shorter shotgun microphones.

Q: 9. How should this windshield be stored and transported - what type of case?

A: There is no specific case designed for storing and transporting the windshield, but you could use a hardshell case like those made by Pelican and SKB or use a padded carry bag.

[0.3 lb] This gear is a must have for people who owns a zoom h6. The suspension kit is really great! No handling noise at all! you can shake all you want and you're still ok! the windshield is awesome! I went out to record some ambiant noise and to the wind was pretty strong. But upon finishing the recording and listening them back, to my surprise no wind noise was picked up by the microphone. Whoever likes to go out and record outside like I do, this is the perfect companion! 5

[3.7 oz / 106 g] This is my first experience with a dead cat / wind jammer. It works very well, still waiting for a really windy day to do some real tests. Handling noise is much better! The suspension mechanism is well engineered. The only problem with this is that it looks like I am carrying a gun around. I am not wanting to scare anyone but sometimes I like recording stuff around town at night also. You could add this to the end of a pole it looks like and use as a boom suspender. 5
