Q: 1. What is the distance between the two lyres? I've heard its 1 , but just wanted to confirm that before I buy one :)

A: Thank you very much for the quick responses :) I plan on using the INV6 with my Schoeps active bars! But I'm in the process of making my own PAS(Point At Stacks) active bars out of 20mm delrin and 3/8 stainless steel threaded rods as well, and just wanted to know the distance between the lyres so that I can make a super small PAS bar! I was going to make my smallest PAS bar about 1 1/4 long, so this will be perfect! And then I'm going to make a few at DINa/DIN/NOS spacing as well to use with my NBob SGC Clips(custom Schoeps SGC clips that are made from delrin and aluminum bases)! So this INV 6 will be absolutely perfect! So thanks again for the answers fellas ;)

Q: 2. Does somebody have first hand experience with how well this mount tackles handling noise when used with a Schoeps CMC641 with colette cable?

A: This Rycote should work well. The build quality is excellent. We have not tested the Rycote with this Schoeps mic.The mount below is designed specifically for this mic and may be the best choice:Schoeps A 20 S Elastic Suspension Swivel Shock Mount (Stiffer Elastic) B&H # SCA20S

Q: 3. What is the distance/length from the end of one lyre, to the end of the other lyre? TIA, Bean

A: 70mm (2.75 ) - the Lyres can be moved too with the use of a hex key, and they can be either 25mm apart of 45mm apart.

Q: 4. Would the INV-4 be the ideal shock mount size for the Audix 1250BHC?

A: Audix recommends their SMT-MICRO Shock Mount Stand Adapter (B&H# AUSMTMICRO) for use with the M1250B-HC and other Audix Micro Series microphones. Additionally, the SMT-MICRO is an item that we stock while the INV-4 is only available by special order and is not returnable.

Q: 5. Is there a 1/4-20 thread underneath the cold shoe?

A: No, it does not. You would need to use an adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1369426-REG/camvate_c0993_2_x_1_4_hot.html

Q: 6. Work with Earthworks omni condenser mics? Say QTC40? Or is 225 gm or 0.5 lbs too much?

A: Yes, provided it is fitted properly.. While designed for Sennheiser MKH microphones (Dimensions ø: 0.75 x L: 9.84" / ø: 19 x L: 249.94 mm) , it will support the QTC 40, provided it is positioned properly.

Q: 7. Is this a good choice for the Shure VP88?

A: No, the Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting is not compatible for use with the Shure VP88 Stereo Condenser Microphone. The diameter of the VP88 is 39.7mm at the front, which is the widest part, and 27mm at the cable connection, which is the narrowest part. The INV-7 accommodates microphones that have a diameter of 19 to 25mm. The VP88 already has an internal shockmount that is designed to reduce handling noise and stand vibration, so you could use the stand adapter that comes included with the mic for most applications. If you feel that you need additional isolation, you can try the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII), which accommodates microphones with a diameter of 19 to 34mm and should work on the handle of the VP88.

Q: 8. Would this work for replacing the stock RDE VideoMic Pro shock mount?

A: This shock mount is designed for a true shotgun mic and would not fit the RODE VideoMic Pro model.

Q: 9. Can this be attached to the Rycote Softie pistol grip?

A: The Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension can't work with the Rycote Softie Pistol Grip, because the flange is the wrong size. If you want a lyre mount with the pistol grip, check out BH #RYLMPG.

Q: 10. Will this mount support a mkh 8060 w/softie lite? not because of the weight but because of the small size of the mic. I will be using it with the XLR adapter.

A: MKH 8060: Dimensions Diameter: 0.75" (19mm) Length (Microphone): 5.7" (145mm) Length (with MZX 8000 Module): 7.0" (178mm)

[2 lb] That's what your mic will be in when you mount it to the Rycote INV-7. These work with a wide range of smaller diameter mics. We find these nice alternatives to the factory clips for the Earthworks QTC-50s.

[2 lb] Mounted this on my BMPCC 6k Pro Cage and couldn't be happier. It keeps the mic away from everything else. You can adjust it where it needs to be.

[2 lb] Awesome product, lightweight, flexible and nearly unbreakable, I found them to be very easy to use and set up in the field

[2 lb] I like these a lot; they noticeably reduce vibrations from the stand with all mics compared to most factory clips. I use these with all my SDC's universally without issue. They are much more effective at vibration reduction than the INV-HG, but can't support as much weight.

They'll hold all but the heaviest or narrowest SDC's. Usefully you can move the lyres around between the mounting points with a hex wrench, so it's easier to hold shorter (like 84-style) or tapered SDC's (like M221's or similar). They struggle a little with very heavy mics like sE RN17's (which are also unusually narrow) or Aston Starlights, but it seems like you can purchase stronger lyres, or even stick in a third one in the middle if you want. I keep one pair with the farthest lyre brought back to the mid position, and another pair with the farthest lyre left as factory, so I can choose whichever pair works with the mics I'm using.

Best feature is by far the cable management/strain relief clip on the base of the mic clip. I wish all mic clips had that; saves so much time managing cables during setup.

[2 lb] Mount is highly adjustable and effective in it's function. Well worth the price. B&H is great as always; clear description, items in stock, and prompt, well packaged shipping!

[2 lb] I bought this shockmount for use with Neumann KM184, which are extremely sensitive to movement, shock and vibration even at very low, even almost subsonic frequencies. If I use a conventional mic clip on a stand on stage for example, I get booming footsteps through the stand/clip. I have tried several other rubber-band style mounts, which help slightly, but still not acceptable. This lyre type clip is the best I have tried. Any residual noise is at such low frequency, that I can filter most of it with a highpass at 20 or 30 Hz. But to be truly effective, however, you can not use standard microphone cables (1/4 diameter) because the stiff mic cable puts stress on the lyre and makes it less effective. Moreover, the cable itself conducts mechanical noise to the microphone body. To get the best performance, use a cable made with Mogami 2697 super thin balanced mic cable, make a small loop behind the mic and clip the cable into the strain-relief built-in to the back of this clip. If you have a long mic cable run, just use a 3' pigtail of the thin cable at the mic for this purpose.

[2 lb] I wanted two of these for stereo location sound. They are low profile and work well with a matched pair of Oktava microphones. The cable clip works very well. These are light low profile suspensions and do the job with out complaint.

[2 lb] Need to wait and see how well the plastic holds up over time, vs rubber, but it appears to be an excellent product for the price.

[2 lb] Held my MKH-416 on a boom pole like a champ. Super easy, no handling noise, and even seemed to reduce cable noise as well. Def worth the $$$
